Yep. From what I can make out, it looks like you need to have a mailing address in Japan to order these controllers. Looks like I'm going to be getting ripped off on eBay at some point, then...
I'm on Nintendo's Japanese website right now trying to order a pair of these. It wouldn't seem to let me add them to my cart while logged in with my American Nintendo account, so I logged in using my Japanese one and now it seems to work fine (both accounts are included in my family membership for Switch Online). So... now all I have to do is see if I can figure out how to check out...
For portability's sake, I really think Nintendo should also issue a line of Smash Bros. amiibo cards. Even though I have all the figures (so far), I would totally invest in a line of amiibo cards in order to able to take them with me anywhere.
@Tsurii That is so not true. Most of the games on the NES Classic Edition are still absolutely brilliant. I take it you weren't one of those who grew up with them, to have made a comment like that.
Arcade Archives Double Dragon is a very pleasant surprise. It's funny that I was just lamenting yesterday that the original arcade version of that game was pulled from Xbox Live before I ever even bought my 360. I'm not going to miss it this time!
I'm 200+ hours into Xenoblade 2, and I love the game, but so far, I haven't seen any DLC content that justifies the $30 price tag for its Expansion Pass. Think I'm going to continue holding out on that.
I'll totally pick up an SNES Mini... if Nintendo will ever let me. It's a bloody miracle that I have an NES Mini. A second controller set me back sixty freaking dollars. And my Famicom Mini had to be imported for $110. Here's hoping they handle the SNES Mini with better stock and more competent planning.
I emailed Nintendo yesterday to literally BEG for this to be released to North American Club Nintendo members, and I implore everyone else here to do the same! There is strength in numbers, I tell you. Nintendo did decide to release that Mario All-Stars 25th Anniversary package in the States after their American fans made a big uproar over it only being released in Japan... so there IS hope, everybody... but you've gotta start reaching out to NOA for this stuff! I still want that gold Wii Wheel they gave their Japanese Club Nintendo members a few years ago, too...
