Less to do with pricing and more to do with the push to all digital.
Digital games hold no value for me, I simply do not buy them. I wanted to try "Avowed" but skipped it when the premium price was just for an empty box. Had it contained the game on disc I would have bought it.
"Our goal for PlayStation 3 is for consumers to think to themselves, 'I will work more hours to buy one,'. We want people to feel that they want it, irrespective of anything else."
Or:
"This is the PS3 price. Expensive, cheap - we don't want you to think of it in terms of game machines."
Let's be 100% honest here... Nintendo launched a machine with a resolution of 1280×720 in 2017... The original Xbox was doing that in 2001(!) This was 1 year after the Playstation 4 Pro and at the same time as the Xbox One X were pushing 4K. It's felt old since day 1.
I dig the art style, but the crappy animation kills it. Looks like one of those old web based Flash games. Changing from a single still frame of art to a 2nd slightly modified still frame of art doesn't qualify as "animation".

Re: Talking Point: Will You Be Buying Any Game-Key Card Switch 2 Games?
Forget the games, I won't be buying anything related to the Switch 2. Each time they announce something it just gets worse and worse.

Also like Sony's comment on high PS3 prices:

It's a good concept that needs better execution.
