I have nothing against NES games per se, but as has already been said, by and large they haven't aged well. Many of them were heavily inspired by the arcade machine era, and games were often brutally difficult as a result and to artificially pad game length. I never had a NES so I don't have the nostalgia, so really the only reason for me to bother with those old games is from a historical perspective to see where these various franchises started from.
I guess it's hard to complain since they're more or less a freebie if you're paying for the (honestly hugely disappointing) online service, but it's still hard not to be annoyed given how much we lost in terms of the VC and backwards compatibility between the Wii U and the Switch, and how perfect the Switch would be as a VC platform.
