I am waiting to purchase a Switch until a hardware upgrade with: (in order of importance): 1) Improved internal storage 2) Improved battery life 3) Fix hardware defects 4) More graphical capabilities or, if no upgrade is announced/released with most of these top 4 requirements 5) Price drop
They seem to get that they need games, but do they know they need more first/second party developers to produce more games? Would it be wise to venture into more T-rated to M-rated software to shed the family only image that they have?
Nintendo needs to focus heavily on software. Despite them developing great quality games, they do not have the man power and recourses to push out enough software. Additionally, their games do not seem to appeal to a diverse consumer base. GameCube had enough horsepower to run many third party games but failed to sell 3rd part content. To attract 3rd party's consumer base, Nintendo's new system will have to be powerful to make 3rd party games the optimal version on the NX. If not, Nintendo will have to make 1st party games that appeal to that base (non-family friendly games) to establish the base for 3rd parties.
I have not played too many games on WiiU but below are some of my faves that I've played so far (in no particular order): Deux Ex: Human Evolution Bayonetta (part 1) Super Mario 3D World Super Smash Bros. WiiU Rayman: Legends
Lets not forget the online only/indies: Guacamelee! Super Turbo Charged Edition Duck Tales: Remastered
