@Adamant 1 game a week at US$9 when it's a game that's about to be released in a collection where each game would cost less than US$4? Yeah, that's overpriced. Don't even try to act like you guys aren't being hypocrites.
Haha, that's GOLDEN. You folks get two games and still have the audacity to complain? When we get our one overpriced crap release on Monday I'm actually going to look forward to the hypocritical nonsense from across the ocean.
@Rexy That's awesome, dude, but the point everyone on this side of the pond was trying to make is that a lot of you European types (You and Adamant in paticular) don't seem to do anything but criticize us for our dismay at how badly Nintendo is handling the VC here right now. It's all good and well to insist we try new games but there AREN'T any new games. You European folks have your Hanabi festivals and all kinds of great games that we would LOVE to have a shot at but don't even get the option to try. You guys had some pretty slim pickings when VC first started but most of us Yanks and Canucks sympathized with you instead of insisting you suck it up and stop whining. Opinions are awesome but it seems like you and Adamant just enjoy baiting a bunch of people who are already pretty glum about their $300 investment sitting in the corner.
@Rexy Seriously dude, take a hike. I purchased a wii for one reason and one reason alone: Virtual Console. I'm totally within my right to criticize Nintendo for terrible releases. I mean, look at you, you don't even actually defend the game itself. It's like you're just here to mock Americans and Canadians for being disappointed. Have you played this game? Would you download it? I highly doubt it. Why? Cause it looks like it sucks. If there was an alternative to this game I might be content but this is it. One crappy obscure game of a genre that appeals to hardly anyone that isn't even rated very highly within its respective genre. No other choice this week. And it's been this way for a couple months now.
Seriously, whoever is in charge of Nintendo's VC release department is a straight up moron. Don't give me any of this crud about 'oh wow, fatal fury is pretty decent'. The game doesn't appeal to a LOT of people because we're tired of fighters. How many hundreds of SNES titles are there? Genesis? NES? Unless Nintendo has some crazy delusion that the Wii is going to have longevity that lasts decades then there is no excuse and no reason to have such a shoddy release schedule.
@Adamant: A good week is when Nintendo actually releases something that I care about. Oh wow! Another Alex Kidd game? Yeah, let's release that instead of putting out one of the hundreds of SNES masterpieces that we've been neglecting for almost the entire year! And I'm not talking about SMRPG or Earthbound so please don't start your usual griping about people who anticipate those games.
I seem to recall an older Nintendo system called the 'Super Nintendo Entertainment System'. Do you guys suppose games for that system might also be released on the VC service some day?
I vaguely remember a Nintendo Power poll asking gamers what games we wanted the most on Virtual Console...were we unwittingly creating Nintendo's 'do not release these games' list?
$100 says that America is going to get shafted on Monday...crap, I remember when I used to look forward to Monday's with anticipation. Now I just dread the updates.
Oh yeah guys. Nintendo holding off on releasing games in the US until they can make a better profit. Yeah, that's a TOTAL conspiracy theory. Give me a break, they're a company. And I'm not talking about Earthbound and Mario RPG. I'm talking about the differences between the Europe catalog and the US catalog, specifically games like those released during the hanabi festival. Europe has strong currency, europe gets decent VC titles. US has weak currency, we get weak VC titles.
The US won't be getting ANY interesting VC releases until the dollar gets strong again. Nintendo isn't stupid. They know that X number of people are going to download the hot titles regardless of whether they release it now or later. If later they can release it at the same price for a stronger currency then they make more money. Our economy is the reason Europe has gotten a million great VC releases and we've gotten crap. Wiiware wise it's a different story: All the developers of those titles are currently in the hole for development costs. They can't afford to wait for a better time to release. Expect wiiware releases to start stinking soon too, though.
Wait a minute...."To celebrate the launch there will be no VC games"? They release a bunch of sad and pathetic excuses for shovel-ware and we're supposed to have a 'no new VC games this week' party to kick it off?

Two WHOLE games for Europe this week? That means NO games next week, right?
