I feel like an obvious cause of this would be putting pressure on the top edge of the console while it is laying on its back with the joycons attached. In that setup, the top of the console is raised in the middle due to the triggers on the joycons. Pressure in the center along the top would definitely cause a bend similar to the one in the picture.
