@JimLad: I pray that was sarcastic in some way; Gen2 LITTERALLY had everything Gen1 had. Gen3+ is understandable, but Gen2? Laughable, as the first sequel to a game is never prematurely speculated. Gen3, however, introduced a much smaller world than before, and Gen4 proceeded in doing the same. Gen2 probably remains the best Pokemon game to date, but we'll have to wait and see if Gen5 pulls any new tricks.
I'd really like to question how a Cave Story 2 could come to be in such a way as to match the current. To the dorks around who want something simple like "new characters" - if there was a Cave Story 2, it would MORE than likely have nothing to do with the floating island that the first takes place on. Hate to break it to you, but if it were a prequel, the ending will already be known. A sequel - what can even happen without ruining the original?
"The only other mode we were able to see was the ability to play through the story with one of the other characters encountered in the game, but it's always possible there's an extra surprise hidden there somewhere..."
I should hope there's something extra to it, however, it's quite doubtful of a new boss design as far as Nicalis explained in the past. Still, if they out and surprise with a sudden twist with new maps and enemies, it will be quite welcome; otherwise a mere graphic swap feels wasteful (A toddler could do it on the PC version).
Still, my primary hope is that, within the lengthy delay time, they finally got the remixed music down. If it's still the ungodly droning of the preview versions, I'll tear my hair out. And I have a lot of hair.
@Yosher I'd like to think they release 4-7 full 3-act zones every 'episode', and total in at 14 Zones. $100 total for 7 - 14 zones is unrealistic and silly :x But I see what you mean; they'll probably keep the overall purchase budget under $40, though.
@Yosher I'm pretty sure S3K was intended on being a single game in the first place, but was split up due to hardware limitations at the time. For all we know Sonic 4 may very well be split up into only 2 or 3 "episodes", just as S3K was split into S3 and SK.
