@Diddy_kong The avoiding items/getting bumped tip was aimed more at situations where you're in the middle of the pack, or at the start of races, for example. The first couple turns of tracks like Royal Raceway are where people tend to get bumped around a LOT. Instead of taking tighter lines, it's better to go in the spaces where other races are not, and let everyone else bump each other on a track like that. It's where other tips such as brake pumping come in handy at times as well.
Obviously, there will be some instances when you literally can't do anything, but that doesn't mean that trying your best to limit getting hit/bumped as much as possible won't at least decrease the chances of your race being screwed over, and that's something people tend to forget.
