(+) Awesome that an actual new Castlevania is coming!
(~) After all the series's Metroidvanias (never understood the hype around SotN - good game, but can't hold a candle to me neither against Castlevania III nor against Super Metroid) it would have been really cool to get a new classic-style entry. Or if non-linear, why not finally a second "Faxanaduvania" like Simon's Quest? And not sure about the "pastel" artstyle.
(-) Really not a fan of the choice of developer...I tried Dead Cells and the Castlevania expansion for a while, but found it underwhelming gameplay-wise and the "edgy" humor cringy. Really hope this game will actually feel like Castlevania.
It feel it's my duty to point out that it's not just some guy dancing in the Goemon Game Over screen, but a (the?) devil. And when you choose continue other devils join him with hoola hoops. Now everything makes sense, doesn't it?
@Johnny_Arthur No problem! I really hope we get this game as well; actually my first thought when the VR NSO was announced was "I hope this means Bound High will finally release!"
My only experience with Bubsy until now are demo stations back in the day and a some hours with the first game a couple of years ago (in which I found it quite decent), so I don't habe enough information and impression to actually review it (and haven't played the sequels yet).
That said, while I normally really enjoy the "feel" of Nintendo life reviews, this was an oddly mean-spirited one (reminding me of the Hardcore Gaming 101 article about the series in this respect) I can't say I enjoyed to read because it leaned so heavily into AVGN style and the "Bubsy is the worst gaming series ever LOL" meme.
As others here already pointed out, the first two games got decent to good reviews back then, the Jaguar one was reviewed more lukewarm (but not exactly bad) for being so similar to the first one despite running on a much stronger console, and the 3D was the only really infamous one. The bashing of Bubsy as a whole while saying that all gamers always hated the series with a passion is a relatively recent phenomenon. Not that this context is relevant to a modern review, mind you, but I found it quite odd that said review seemed to have a strong "you know, everybode hated Bubsy everytime" subtext.
PSA because not really obvious: In VS Mode when choosing courses you can just select a course and then press A again without choosing a route to another course, then you can just race the course in a classic 3-Lap-style. Similar in online races: In the course selection screen there press +/Start to get to another view where you can use the same principle as described above. Sadly there is no "classic Grand Prix" mode, but at least in VS every course can be played in a classic way.

@Johnny_Arthur I think you mean Bound High, another unreleased game I was hoping for.

Re: Preview: Sakurai's Kirby Air Riders Is A Kaleidoscopic Adrenaline Rush
Thanks for the nice preview Felix, but my central question: Was there splitscreen multiplayer for City Trial?
Re: Crash Bandicoot Co-Creator Believes The Remakes "Botched" The Jump Mechanics
@Jack_Goetz My first thought too.
