@PipeGuy64Bit That used to be the case. It took a lot of grassroots fan-activations to convince C-suites on the value of earned media; their was a club, and eventually The Nintendo Creator's Program was made- if your video was approved, most of that money would not go to a creator's pocket.
But returning to the development of fan games. Ultimately it is The Pokémon Company's (TPC) choice to go after projects. And it is your choice to support a company with your money.
I'm huge fan of Pokémon as an experience, and I hope for TPC to adopt a more amicable approach to fan-creations.
@JimNorman Yes, Ganondorf's story here should have suspense build up to it. I felt the narrative beats were incredibly staccato.
Each major event felt so narratively independent from the cumulative journey Link or you take.
Whereas, I wish we saw Ganondorf's reaction to the player's journey. Like a few narrative beats speaking ire on the player's conquest or plans foiling and upgrading enemies to counteract a stronger Link (which we see game-play wise does happen, but there's no narrative feedback as to why)
@NintendoKnight Right? Love it, its not an alternative to college, yet did you know, attending one of the world's best universities for game development, USC, costs 60K USD per year!
Why do that when you can read, watch, and learn from people for free! Aspiring Game Devs need content like Sakurai's! And I hope more game devs create similar content!

Re: Rare 'Nintendo Dolphin' GameCube Prototype Re-emerges On Social Media
I wonder what was the timeline between Nintendo's NPDP-GDEV Prototype and this Nintendo Dolphin?

Great job all around!
