Re: First Impressions: Running Scared from Sonic Forces

@AlienX I call it an abomination for a number of reasons. The glitches are well beyond what even sonic is used to, the story is garbage, the game, when not playing as sonic, is unfun (Silver I'm looking at you), boss fights are boring, etc. If you like it, then good. It's great you can enjoy a game I can't. You know what they say: "Different strokes for different folks"

Not to sound like a jerk, but this entire article just seems unfair and nostalgia blinded. I've been with the Sonic series for nearly 20 years and even I think you were going a bit overboard. People want to hear fair criticism, not "It's just another bad modern sonic game." with laughable comparisons (OC's weapon = shadows guns? Really?) and rather poor descriptions, like calling the modern sonic level "Cookie Cutter". What exactly defines "Cookie cutter" anyway? Is emerald hill a cookie cutter stage? It could be considered a newer version of Green hill with different Badniks. Both are opening levels with lush greenery. Another point I don't agree with is the whole " and had nothing in terms of secrets or hidden paths that we could find, likely because the game kept encouraging us to speed through without taking the time to absorb anything of any detail." So you mean like generations, colors, adventure, unleashed, 1, 2, 3, Knuckles, Etc. It takes a few playthrough to find those things, and just like in the games I listed, I doubt you were gonna find them in one or two goes at the level. There's also the issue with him complaining that classic Sonic feels "off". Chances are he feels close to what he did in generations, if the footage I've seen is anything to go by, which I mean, yeah, if you've played a lot of 2 recently no duh he feels off. That's like saying Mario feels off in NSMB after playing World for a week straight. Lastly, Sonic 06 isn't a remake, it's an unholy abomination we keep locked in the basement to ensure it doesn't infect the general populous.
