A lot of people here have low standards. The game is obviously incomplete because they have so few sports and they look identical almost gameplay wise: badminton, tennis, volleyball.
They even don't have golf on launch.. where is baseball, boxing, piloting a plane? Obviously it's because of the online support that they have to have so few sports because doing online means you can't have a lot going on onscreen or can't have sports which requires fast paced action which is why boxing in Wii sports club is slow and awful.
Plot twist: NERD is actually like NERV and they will soon test the SIM: Switch Instrumentality Project where everyone will become one with their Nintendo Switches.
That's why 3D Mario All Stars is a limited release.
I also think the graphics suit the game well, and are polished.
Awesome unlockables for more replayability.
Soundtrack is 10/10, very catchy.
My only tidbit is a framerate lag every so often and the YOU CRASHED animation should be quicker.
Has fast Post to Miiverse in game, instead of the traditional open Miiverse then post.
Has leaderboards, which basically no other NWF game does. Worth the $2.99 for sure!!
Level design is fun and I don't understand the reviewer's gripes about the bad level design. Yes you need to veer off path to dodge cars and rocks, and yes you can shoot stuff. I think it's quite fun and hilarious, and that should be a plus instead of a gripe.
Probably THE MOST polished Nintendo Web Framework game out there apart from the Mario VS Donkey Kong NWF games.
I'd rate it 8.5/10. My favorite, and the only NWF game that I enjoy.

"there's not even a means of keeping a record of your highest rally."
If you set no bumpers, no walls, default controls, speed = 10, it keeps track of your score and highscore.
