Fan/Critic reviews of the game used to be higher until the addition of microtransactions in the form of paid weapon skins. This caused a pretty big backlash, and while many came back to the game at least a good number of that 30% negative did not. The PC version is headed in a great direction, BUT... with their Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Playstation 4, and Xbox One releases, they've put out non-current, buggy versions of the game with little promise of updates ahead other than "soon." (PS3 and 360 support was dropped after their first 2 DLCS...which was around 60-something DLCs ago, in favor of new consoles). It's one of my favorite games of all time, and I believe in supporting Overkill, the developer, but if you can't get the PC version, I have to say skip it.
I will make no comment on most of your statements, but you are wrong about one thing. Drills do not drop, though they used to. The reason drills do not drop is because all safes are free to open since the Biker update (Fall of last year roughly). These free safes will drop and you can immediately open or sell them with no additional charge, though they don't net much profit as more than likely you will get a low-quality skin worth pennies. Most free safes sell for around 30 cents, unless they're newer you can maybe earn up to $2.
With that being said, while I enjoy the direction and the increased listening to feedback Overkill has shown recently, I would not for one second trust their console releases.
