No base game resolution and performance upgrade is super disappointing to see. I too was suckered into pre-ordering the upgrade without knowing the full information. Nintendo were not transparent enough in this case which is a shame. Will definitely make me more cautious for future S2 versions.
I haven't read all the comments so not sure if I've missed someone mention this but what I found out was that if you have an ethernet cable connected to your dock, it's causing the device to be warm even if you haven't used it overnight and it's been in sleep mode. Might be worth a try for anyone who doesn't know.
System Settings > Sleep Mode > Keep Wired Connection Active in Sleep Mode and DISABLE
