Those looking forward to dive into some Shenmue III Enhanced before the year is up better temper their expectations, as ININ Games has today announced that the remake is being shifted into 2027.
Despite sitting on a mysterious 'Q4 2026' release window for a while now, the dev today announced in a newsletter (via Shenmue Dojo) that it was delaying the game to "early 2027" while it works on "finalising the last details".
There's nothing more concrete about the new release date at the time of writing, but at least we know not to wait for it in the coming months any more.

We're well aware that you're eagerly awaiting the chance to see Ryo shine like never before, for the first time on several modern consoles. Development is taking time to get everything right, and we're making great progress while finalising the last details.
We'll have more details to share with you soon and are looking forward to this release in early 2027!
While it's always a shame to see things get pushed back, the lack of a precise release date on this one going into the last two months of 2026 has left us not all that surprised that it has slipped. Hey, it's always better to take an extra bit of time to polish things off rather than rush it out — and we certainly don't need even more games on our backlogs right now.
