I like whenever they do classic sonic they go with 2d animation like he had in sonic cd (at least that’s the last one I remember that had it) I love it!

This and super mario wonder are my most anticipated games of 2023!

this and Wonder leave me a bit cold,
after having somewhat of a renaissance,
I feel like 2D plarformers have hit a nadir of sorts.

@HammerGalladeBro @Snatcher That animation wasn't made for Sonic Jam specifically, it was sort of a pilot / pitch video for a Sonic animated show by TMS (Tokyo Movie Shinsha), and just put into the Sonic World area as a bonus.

The show never got picked up but they did get to work on the DiC Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog show for the intro and some of the episodes. And yes, Animaniacs, Tiny Toons, etc. too. IIRC they also did animation for Sonic X some years later. I like the 2d bits a lot, but I'm not keen on the mixture of early CG environments with 2d art. I liked the DiC Sonic show a lot though, far more consistent style.

This is just what I like. Colourful, sunny and classic Sonic. I used to sit outside when it was sunny and listen to Sonic music. It felt so good. Mario and Sonic have the perfect sunny vibes music.

So it looks like there will be dlc character skins - do you think you will be able to purchase the Lego Dr. Robotnik skin later on if you didn’t pre-order it?

I love this more recent trend of Sonic having fun and lively animations. We had the Sonic Mania and Team Sonic Racing shorts, as well as some miscellaneous ones such as the Chao In Space one. It's the one thing about Sonic nowadays that I can always count on being fun, regardless of whatever the game quality is like

All new 2D Sonic and 2D Mario in the same year and in the run up to Christmas!

Nice animation, but, I have the feeling I always see the same things happening in this 2D Sonic intros. Sonic and his closest friends running around in Green Hill Zone or Green Hill Zone inspired eras, defeating Badniks, and doing cool poses. We have seen similar animations with an almost identical art style already in Sonic Mania, The Sonic miniseries on YouTube, Sonic Origins, and now once again here. It is still good, high quality animation, but a bit too repetitive for my taste.

Its like an issue of Sonic the Comic come to life

Always a pleasure watching these kinds of Sonic animations.
