Still one of the very best trailers I've ever seen for a video game.

Hopefully the dope trailer music actually shows up in the game itself this time.

What a phenomenal trailer. Actual gameplay mixed with in game cutscenes and some great music to top it off.

Used to be I watch that trailer with some curiosity and ended by purchased BOTW on a whim. But I was wrong after played for several minutes and felt I bought very wrong game so I sold the game after more than 4 years being neglected and I stopped thinking about BOTW completely.

The only Zelda trailer for me.

Totk better have dungeons that was the only let down for me in Botw.

Unbelievable that the game will release soon. This will be big lunch for the Zelda series. This is a big Zelda game lot bigger than Skyward sword and Breath of the wild.

This trailer almost makes me want to go back to a place I spent 275 hours in! I’m hoping TOTK has proper dungeons and takes more influence from Witcher 3 (the only game that rivals it for best I’ve ever played) in terms of its open world design.

Surely this trailer has to be some form of false advertisement lol. It made it seem like the game was going to have the most engaging Zelda story yet filled with cool characters and epic music. And the final product, well....

Truly an un-forgetful moment in time. A perfect game that won’t be forgotten!!!

Breath of the Wild's Switch presentation trailer is still my favorite trailer for any videogame ever. It's so well edited.

If not the best trailer for videogames for me but surely one of the best! I got so excited when I saw it and I had awaken just to watch it realtime. It was Friday morning and I remember till now! BOTW is one of the best video games!
Also it has 27 million views in youtube which is a remarkable achievement!

Regardless of my feelings on the final game, the trailer for BOTW was fantastic especially the music when it breaks into the iconic Zelda theme.

I vividly remember watching this video with goosebumps, shivers, awe and real tears!! It broke me down unlike ANY game trailer EVER!! And I'm NOT a super Zelda fan. Don't get me wrong, I love a lot of Zelda games but Metroid is my #1 favorite franchise!!

The trailer was virtually perfect. The game basically single handedly launched the Switch off to a flying start which it never looked back from.

Remember it well. Now bring on Tears.
My Switch OLED is ready, check.
My Switch pro controller is ready, check.
My OLED TV is ready check.
My surround sound is ready, check.

Will be interesting to see where it all starts, will we have the compass teleportation or horse teleportation from BOTW dlc when we start.
Will it breakable weapons, will we making food etc etc.

I was mesmerized by just how beautiful Breath of the Wild was when I first played the game. The idea of non-linear open world Zelda game is refreshing and it's completely a new experience for me compared to other Zelda games. I can't wait for Tears of the Kingdom to be released on Nintendo Switch.

We still have yet to see a trailer for TotK at this magnitude of hype and emotion.

It's interesting just how different Nintendo's approach to TotK promotion has been compared to BotW.

I’m definitely excited for TOTK in a couple of months but I’m starting to temper some expectations! The hype for this game is nigh unrealistic! It’s a tall ask for a sequel, I’m sure it too will be an amazing game as BoTW was…however I’m prepared that it might not feel as fresh and new as it’s predecessor. The game will review well surely but I’m also prepared for some 8’s and 9’s this time around. Not saying it’ll be bad!…just saying the shoes it’s attempting to fill are absolutely massive!

The goosebumps I still get every time I watch the Breath of the Wild trailer is a testament to how well-made the trailer was. I can't wait for Tears of the Kingdom's trailer to elicit the same effect from me.

Probably the best trailer Nintendo has ever made - from the exploration segment, to the rising tension of the combat, to the musical crescendo when Zelda's face is revealed, to the introduction of various characters with a variation of the LoZ theme playing...so much is captured within the trailer. I still watch it occasionally to this day.

Breath of the Wild is not my favorite Zelda game, but this was--and still is--the greatest video game trailer I've ever seen in my life. Every marketing person who put it together deserved a raise. That was such a special time for Nintendo and just games as a whole, man. This was around the same time the first trailer for Crash N. Sane Trilogy dropped, and I would rewatch both those trailers and the Super Mario Odyssey one probably dozens of times. I was so excited. The last couple years of the Wii U's days were quite the exodus, but NX was the promised land that kept us treading through the wilderness.

@FinalSmashGamer I mean that Zelda trailer was pretty snuffing amazing. But I totally agree, this was the first time I saw Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and it's pretty magical that it's been 6 years since I've been introduced to my favorite game of all time.

@FinalSmashGamer Mario Odyssey's trailer definitely wasn't as epic as this one for BotW. As for XC2, I agree it too had a decent reveal, but I'd say that the trailers for XC3 were all much better than those for 2. And 3 was far and away the better game over 2, so I'd go with 3 here for comparison.

ZBOTW was built for Wii U hardware so I'm hoping for more interesting open world environments with the Switches extra power.

Such an incredible trailer that puts me in the mood to play. It also makes the game look like there's so much potential for it to have a great story. Unfortuanlly I found playng the game to be a different experience

The cutscenes were my favourite part but the game did feel like it was made for exploring rather than the story. The open world is what kept the game from having an enjoyable story. Bit like Assassin's Creeds recent games, too much exploring before we make progress on the story. Take too long in between and it feels slow. While I could just follow the main story, I'd be missing out on a lot of other things such as getting the master sword, etc. Would love the game more if it was story first then exploring.

I still haven't finished BotW but put a lot of hours into it. I will be sure to go back soon.

Definietly not missing out on TotK.

Would be boring if we all agreed on everything. For me BOTW is the best game I've ever played (I'm 44 and my first console was a NES). I also liked what story there was and the way it was handled. The music was great and I have no issue with the breakable weapons and hope they remain in TOTK. My 14 year old feels pretty much the same. We cannot wait for the new game. Roll on May.

@Mauzuri Nintendo fans are in their own bubble. There are some who talk about owning other systems but they are still heavily biased to anything Nintendo. When the new game comes out and it runs sub 30 we will hear lots of “it looks fine comments”

@Debo626 Mario odyssey is so over rated. I would much prefer 3d world, bowsers fury and new super Mario bros u deluxe over it. People were too hyped about a 3d Mario but so boring. Where was the platforming? Didn’t exist. Where was the power ups? Stealing other peoples identities isn’t power ups.

@sixrings Everyone’s got a right to their opinions, but I do find it funny you call Super Mario Odyssey a boring platformer while elevating New Super Mario Bros U, which recycled the same elements of the past three games in the series, as a great one. Odyssey definitely isn’t perfect (a bunch of moons were pointless or far too easy), but there was certainly a ton of creative platforming in it (2D and 3D) that had context within the levels.

Best game trailer of all time. My only complaint is that that stellar music was not in the actual game.

I watched it every day until the Switch arrived at my door alongside the game. And watched it a few times after as well.

@sixrings I own a Series X and a Switch. Would BOTW run better on the Series X? Yes, of course. The Series X is capable of things way beyond the Switch (and most likely the follow up to the Switch too).
Was the performance bad enough to impact my enjoyment? No, didn't give a monkey's. It's just a brilliant game.
(Actually, the bit by the Deku Tree was pretty bad and looked awful, apart from that though I could cope).

I am slightly worried Tears of a kingdom is going to be delayed. Can’t pre order on Amazon Uk. No special addition available and we still know hardly anything.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but we could be waiting till April but it be called a Zelda direct.

@MonadoBoy while I’m not the OP I will say that in some ways I agree with him. Odyssey is a very very very good game and I had a great time with it but personally it wasn’t what I most want from a Mario game. I enjoyed 3d World more.

I also think NSMBU is an excellent game undervalued because it has the bland recycled art style. The level design and control - especially in Luigi U - is super tight. It’s not a popular opinion I know but I personally think it might be the best 2d Mario game.

When it comes to pure platforming action it’s more intense than Odyssey (which isn’t entirely lacking of course but has strengths in other areas).

hopefully they show a fully restored wrathful ganondorf in the next trailer.

then getting it and firing it up on Wii U, sharing pics and talking about things found with each other on Miiverse...wow was that a long time ago.

Damn, I'm sad whenever I read that some people didn't love BOTW. Though I already know it's a divisive game.
Anyway, my hype for TOTK is out of this world.

I hope they have options to turn off some of the things that annoyed me about the first one. Breakable weapons, making potions etc. I get it gives it more depth, but as someone with kids and a job, I hated spending most of my time looking for weapons, I just wanted to relax and play a game. I also hope there's more in this one. The first one had a huge map but it was completely empty. Developers need to realise a smaller map with more to do is better than a huge map that's dead (GTA5 is a perfect example)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who still thinks this is quite literally the best game trailer of all time! I still rewatch this on occasion, and I can only hope they put as much effort into TOTK's launch trailer.

Skyward Sword HD's launch trailers were very good as well, in fact those trailers were what made me pull the trigger on the game. A well made trailer should never be underestimated by developers.

BoTW was excelent, as was that trailer.
But TotK… I dont know why Im not that exited, it just feels like it was just a DLC from the previous game… like not new enough…
I hope the game changes my mind, of course I gonna get it.

@NinjaNicky breakable weapons was not really that bad. But yes, The emptiness of the world was kind of a bummer, the lack in number and variety of the enemies. Another thing that (a very little thing really, but annoyed me) was the artificial bundaries of the map, the invisible wall on the desert…

@Diogmites yeah every 6.5 years, what's wrong with them. They should have 50 years in between

I sorta feel like BOTW was a special magic. It was essentially a re-imagining of the first game with influence from the lore of the overall series. That sense of recovering from desolation and destruction and trying to cluster together to cobble an existence with the threat of danger everywhere but having hope while you do it (Hyrule not Link). As much as I am excited for TotK and I AM EXCITED, I'm afraid it is just going to be a sequel. Not more of the same but a familiar expansion that won't have a lot of that lost/wild feel to it. Plus I'm not looking forward to Zelda getting sidelined. They gave her too much agency in BOTW and AOC so I know they are gonna tone that back and put her in DID mode. At least in BOTW you knew she was holding Ganon back from just killing everyone and had been doing so for a century...still a DID plot but at least one that makes her useful/cool. I do hope the breakable/cooking mechanics stay but I feel like they may use the new game as an excuse to chuck it. I'm a little afraid of this game, I feel like if they revert to old storytelling conventions that this will be my last foray into the series. I've outgrown Link.

One of the best Trailers in that franchises history along with Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess (not bc of the games but the perfect combo of epicness/editing and reaction.

Still one of the best trailers I've ever watched, though I will say it set my expectations for the story a bit too high.

Yesterday i did play BOTW since like a lot of time and oh boy, i forgot how big o a game is. I did have a lot of fun and the game has age well enough, hopefully TOTK will adress some of the issues i had with the former (wepons breaking system and dungeons)

Seriousy, over half a decade, for a game that supposedly uses the previous game as a "base". This is simply incredible (in both good and bad ways)
I really miss those times where a new Nintendo console was on the horizon and we all could predict how it would fare, what games it could have... I wish I could feel that again.
