Yeah, let's see if it's also going to look magical on Switch. After Alan Wake "remaster" and Sonic Frontier, I ain't keeping my hopes up.☹️

I'm really hoping this is good. I feel like it might be something more appropriate to purchase on PC as I'm sure this is a candidate for the greater modding community to go nuts on.

Still doubt this will be on Switch, but I guess it'll be cloud version. Either way, I am getting this game and going to support 100% EVERYONE in involved. Super hyped!

Why does every comments section about this game start with the "does not exist in a vacuum" paragraph? What's that supposed to be about?

@SonOfDracula It's because a lot of people don't like JK Rowling and find her to be "anti" LGBTQ+ due to comments and certain charities she has supported in the past, at least that's probably what it's about since it gets mentioned on twitter every time anything Harry Potter related pops up.

@Dom_31 DEFINITELY agree. Liking a game doesn't mean you agree with the game devs on all their individual preferences. That being said, I'm very curious to see how this runs on Switch, because it looks like it's biting off more than it can chew.

Why does it always has to be that disclaimer for a fairly harmless game??

Game looks decent, will be very interested to see how the switch port plays out, feels beforehand it will either be No man's sky "OK" or a blurry mess. But there's always that tiny chance of a "magic port" like Dying Light...

I do hope this turns out well. The HP craze passed me by but this seems to have the potential to be an interesting and fun game.

I honestly hope this game doesn’t actually come out on the Switch just like Genshin Impact. Both games are crazy in detail and the Switch should maybe only allow an experience through GeForce Now or something else. Stadia or Steam Deck will be the best ways to experience this game.

I also don’t understand how the new Pokemon game is coming out next week. That game should have only been released on PC because of how advanced it is.

This game looks awesome. However I won't be playing it on Switch. I am going to get it either on PC or on PS5.

Not every game is perfect for Switch And this will be a great example of it. Whether cloud or downscaled, I'll be keen to play it on PS5 instead. Short of a Sirius/Remus buddy action adventure, this is the HP universe game I've always wanted.

Even if I do not agree with Rowling statements, we need to remember this game has been made by a studio, not by her, and the ones that will pay consequences for going wild with this game will be the people who worked far on it.
With that said, Amazon listed the game for 2023 December, but could be a placeholder.

I'm still not convinced that this will ever be released on Switch without being a cloud version.

I personally don’t care one bit what a famous person has to say about anything. Money doesn’t = wisdom.
I would like to see this run natively on switch, and be half decent as well, but I think it will end up bring a late mess better played in any other console.

Really curious to see how this is going to look on the Switch and what the performance will look like. Judging by how it looks on the other platforms, it is probably going to be one of the most if not the most ambitious ports.

I'm still deeply fascinated by the possibility of this actually running on native Switch hardware. Like The Witcher 3 before it, there's a weird allure to playing something like this on hardware it clearly shouldn't be releasing on.

I disagree with the views and values of some of the creatives involved with the Harry Potter universe and won't be buying the game for these reasons.

To save me the time of watching it, Nintendo Life flagged a 45 minutes video with 0 minutes of Nintendo Switch related footage in it. I do hope it’s not “a port” rather a switch developed version of the game.

I have no doubt in my mind that this game will be no less than great on most platforms.
I also have no doubt in my mind that anyone buying this on Switch based on the footage out there & expecting a comparable performance is delusional.

I'm just relieved it looks so great and doesn't seem to be compromised in any way to fit the lowest common denominator. Makes me more confident in the Switch version being cloud based, unless it's simply being handled by another dedicated studio that can squeeze it all down enough. Either way, I'm getting it on something that can actually handle these kinds of games, and save the Switch for Nintendo's very best exclusives. Not dragging the Switch through the mud here either, Nintendo fans ...Different games suit different platforms, is all. The Tegra X1 is already punching way above its weight ...It deserves a break now and again.

On switch it will be hogpotatoes blurry legacy. Only magic can make it run smoothly on switch. I hope Nintendo finally reveals the switch upgrade/successor probably next year .

I don't really care about Harry Potter but I am interested in seeing how the Switch version turns out since I was fully expecting this to be a cloud version when it was announced.

Looks pretty great. Not really sold on parts of it like the class system (I'm a minority who thought Bully sucked) but as a huge HP nerd, I'll be excited to explore places as the castle itself is the main character I'm interested in, not some offshoot story.

I'll definitely be enrolling at Hogwarts on the PC though as I can't imagine this playing great on the switch even with the more delayed release date.

Still strongly support she-who-must-not-be-named as well. JK is a great author with a completely sound scientific viewpoint and the anti-free speech/cancel culture needs to kindly go away. Boycotting this would be dumb anyway since she's already a billionaire (she doesn't care about your dollar or two from royalties she sees) and it's not like it was her pitch and she helped code it.

I just hope that the game is (mostly) intact on cart, in which case, I'll consider picking this up, but I'll most likely wait for a sale.

I should probably grab the last two books as well, but I'll have to reread the first five given that I last read them back in my high school years (which is an embarrassingly long time ago now!). I would be tempted to grab the audiobook on CD, but Stephen Fry is so insufferably pompous, and I'd really rather not listen to him for 100+ hours.

And the now-standard pinned not-at-all-subtle condemnation of Ms. Rowling is really tiresome, and if anything, spurs people into commenting on the "issue" that some people seem to have with her. The Megan Fox article from the other day didn't receive a pinned comment for her prior displays of moral repugnancy, but hey, it seems that we're only to be offended by that which we are "officially" told to be offended by. And while I don't agree with a lot of things that Ms. Rowling says (in fact, I think I would disagree with her more often than not), the absolute misdirected bile that is so often thrown at her is utterly repulsive. And the most tactful way that I can articulate my position is this: you can't have an "opinion" on what is objectively real.

I hope I'm wrong, but my concern is the combat looks so very similar in every situation. In previous footage when confronted by groups of enemies, every enemy was getting battered by the same identical twirling animation, they'd be hoisted in the air and hit with the same exact spell strikes. It was like watching a loop, I'm hoping you could take out an ankle for example, hit specific weaknesses rather than hoist in the air, big spell, go flying, repeat. I sound quite picky but you really expect a multitude of reactions, physics and animations these days, heck I'd even take some ragdolling to change it up.

Wow it looks great. Ironic that a character creator that lets you be whoever you want to is based off of lore created by someone who has no tolerance for transgender folks. I lost a transgender friend to suicide a few years back and am finding it increasingly difficult to separate the art from the artist in this case. I won't be buying this game for the aforementioned reasons.

I will be buying two copies of this game to support JK and the team! Also, the graphics on this game are just so so, even on the big consoles so I can't imagine the switch having such a hard time. Don't get me wrong, the dev team needs to do a good job of porting the game like recent games such as No Mans Sky, Ark Renewed and not do an Alan Wake. I only own a switch, and I love when these games are ported to it because thats the only way i get to play and enjoy. I'm excited as long as it's not a cloud game.

If it's good I'll buy it used. Potter games have been more miss than hit in recent installments though.

JK already got the money before the game even started being developed and she's a multimillionaire anyways.
