We have known about the possibility of guide books for the Japanese release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet for a while now - in fact, at this stage in the franchise it has almost become a dead certainty. Today we have received further details on the form that these guides will take and, indeed, their quantity.

In an update published on Serebii.net, the Pokémon-centric site explained that there would be not one, not two, but three guides releasing for the latest instalment in the series over the coming months. This was then expanded upon by the site's webmaster, @JoeMerrick, who shared the following information:

As Merrick alludes to, the first Pokémon Scarlet and Violet guide will launch in Japan alongside the game's release on 18th November, 2022, and will focus on the game's three routes - not fully in-depth. This will then be followed by a story guide on 16th December, 2022, and a full Pokédex guide for the Paldea region on 2nd February, 2023.

According to the Serebii.net post, the latter two of these guides will come with unique rewards that readers will be able to unlock in game. The story guide will come with a code to unlock 100 potions and the Pokédex guide will provide a code for 100 Exp. Candy S.

There is currently no news on whether these guides will be translated into the English language, but, as Merrick stated in a follow-up tweet, this could be due to how the guides for Pokémon Sword and Shield were leaked in the past, making the translation redundant.

It would be a shame if these guides were not to leave Japan, but there is no need to worry about an absence of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet information - we here at Nintendo Life will have you covered. Why not check out some of the game guides that we have already published below, then keep an eye on the site throughout November when we will be updating all of you eager Trainers with hints, tips and help for the Paldea region.

Will you be lucky enough to get your hands on one of these guides? Let us know your hopes for the games in the comments below!
