If you've been enjoying Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak since it launched in June, you're no doubt looking forward to the next free title update, due out in "late" November.
Capcom has slowly been sharing more details about this next update, and now in its latest post on social media, the game's director has revealed the Monster Hunter team will be adding the ability to boost the maximum shelling level.
Here's a brief explanation about this particular boost, along with a screenshot:
"As part of Free Title Update 3, we will be adding the ability to boost the Shelling Level for Shelling Lv 6 or Lv 7 Gunlances in Qurious Crafting (the maximum is Lv 8). We hope this helps to widen the variety of weapon selections for players." - Suzuki, #Sunbreak Director
Apart from this, the third free title update will also include variant monsters and powered-up monsters. This update will be followed by more free title updates in 2023. Here's the current roadmap, including what's already been released:

I'm just ready for them to reveal the "?" monster. Returning final-boss I'm guessing, some people are thinking Amatsu, I'm hoping for Dalamdur.
I am really enjoying Sunbreak and Curious crafting really starts to take off once you get the monsters past level 51, but I would like to see a reduction in the grind. Some of these afflicted monsters can be a total grind fest. Getting particular items takes a very long time. It would be nice if the curious items shop had more variety and coins were easier to come by.
@Joeynator3000 holding out for Ahtal-Ka myself. Be a huge shame if it didn’t make an appearance in rise. The movement system especially after sun break begs for that fight. Using wire bugs to navigate the throne freely sounds incredible.
@Ocaz At this point I don't know what to expect, people always keep telling me that G/Master rank final bosses never return...I think the only one that has is Ukanlos in the 4th gen games. Hopefully that changes here, because Ahtal-Ka and Gog would be awesome. I feel like they would be more of a final title update thing, though. lol
Please buff the Insect Glaive and while you’re at it, let us Switch Skill Swap in mid air. This, for us Glaive users especially, would be awesome
Hopefully, any of the big bosses from previous entries can return. Gog and Dalamdur would be amazing to fight against.
Qurious Crafting is too grindy. After the last update, if you did not have a research lvl of 100, you could not access the new materials to continue increasing your lvl.
Besides that... Sunbreak has been amazing!
I’ve never been able to get into Monster Hunter. Played a couple of hours of Rise, despite fine gameplay, it couldn’t hold me.
I’m one of those weird people who would jump on a narrative driven Monster Hunter, but I also know that’s not what series’ fans want.
I consider myself one of those players that uses builds/weapons (and also looking cool!) based on how much fun I'm having. Not based on having the highest numbers possible in all categories. With that being said I'd like them to tweak the HBG crouching fire to be more like MHGU. I have a Normal shot build that I like to use to mix up the fights and use the crouching fire a lot. However, in its current state it can sometimes be a buzzkill keeping one eye on the heat gauge all the time. In MHGU I LOVED the power run, followed by a cool looking slide and then just emptying a full clip into the beast. Then doing it again. And again. Gave me such a thrill. The way it is now it kinda has the DNA of that experience but definitely is lacking. If they tweaked it more like MHGU I'm confident you'd see more HBG use.
I just abandoned Gunlance for LBG, we'll see if this update makes me go back!
@ketrac If you've not considered Monster Hunter Stories 2, you should, it has that narrative/story focus that might line up with what you're wanting. It's apparently solid and a more chill version of MH.
