Surprise! Nintendo Has Launched Two New Social Media Accounts

Great for those that don't speak English very well and would prefer it in their native language.

I'm surprised they didn't have a Spanish speaking account before.

The things I know from Portuguese Brazilian language are bom dia (good morning), boa tarde (good afternoon), boa noite (good night), sim (yes), nao (no), Oba! (Wow!).
I learnt from a daily light novel from newspaper long time ago. 😅

Up until more recent years, Nintendo had really neglected the Brazilian fanbase. Glad to see they've been putting more resources into those regions.

Hopefully this means we actually see actual, big-name, recognizably Nintendo games properly localized to Portuguese - although they did already start with Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo Olympics and Mario Party Superstars.

I'm happy to see Latin American Nintendo fans will finally have dedicated posts! I hope this means there will soon be full on divisions and headquarters for Nintendo Latin America in the near future!

People you realize that there is already an nintendo twitter account in Spanish right? The difference this account is catered to Latin American audiences instead of Spain ones, which already has an account in Spanish.

Actually, more than one.
@NintendoES for Spain and @MxNintendo for Mexico.
The new one is for the other Spanish Latin American countries (Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Chile etc.)

Que beleza! Very happy with this news. We hope this is a step towards more localized games for Latin America. Although I have been playing games in English since my childhood, RPGs would be much easier to play in my mother tong. Also there is this warming feeling of experience things you love in the language you grew up with.

It's interesting to note that Doug Bowser used the fan term "Nintendista", something that the (very new) Nintendo official channels and events in Brazil have been doing recently, which is super lovely. It basically means something akin to "Nintendeer" or "Nintendo-head": it's how we call a Nintendo fan over here (PlayStation fans are referred as "Sonysta", for instance).

@dux Brazilian here! I think you're Brazilian as well. Just wanted to comment that's not how I understand the term "nintendista". To me, that's more than just a fan, that's like a Nintendo supremacist. Someone who thinks Nintendo is better than every other game company.

@DanskCarvalho I wouldn't define the word in those strong terms, but definitely as a super fan or someone who prefers Nintendo over the competition. But that might be a regional difference. Anyway, it's s Brazilian fan term being regularly used in official capacities, and that is very impressive by itself.
