Publisher Spike Chunsoft has showcased a brand new overview trailer for its upcoming RPG title Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness. The game is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch on September 2nd, so if you're somewhat on the fence about the title at this stage, then hopefully this new trailer will give you some interesting new information to chew on.
As for the trailer itself, it gives a brief rundown of some of the key characters you'll be encountering, along with their respective voice actors (be sure to take note of the rather bizarre creature noise at 0:30), before moving onto the 'Basics of Exploration'. Here, the trailer provides some information on buying and selling items, acquiring new abilities and skills, and... whistles? Sure!
It looks like an interesting cross between Breath of the Wild and Ni No Kuni, and there are definitely some key siilarities with the former: weapon durability, combat, climbing mechanics, things like that.
In a previous update on the title, Spike Chunsoft detailed how the game with make use of the notebook feature, allowing you to record key aspects of your adventure as you progress. We also know roughly how much storage space the game will take up on your Switch and the good news is you probably won't need to invest in a new SD card for this one!

Still not sure exactly how good the game's going to be but I love the anime and I like supporting Spike Chunsoft as they release a lot of my favourite stuff these days so I'll be giving it a chance.
Broken limb ailment actually sounds dope for a mechanic especially when the game have a large focus on climbing.
I’m a simple man. I love the anime, and I love open world, said anime gets a game, I see both, I buy.
I have heard good things about the anime I have yet to watch.
This game looks everything right up my alley, except for children getting gruesomely impaled/mauled, I'm not into that (but I can bear with it)

Started watching this anime about a week ago....people were right, there's some really messed up stuff in this..! I wonder if they will tone it down for the game 🤔
Oh so this is like Moonlighter/Breath of the Wild lovechild. It actually looks really good might check it out later.
Oof. The battle system looks terrible. I love this anime but this game is looking like a hard pass. Im probably in the minority here but I never liked anything from Spike Chunsoft. It always felt unpolished and clunky. The falling animation at 1:20 already tells me a lot about this game.
The anime constantly teeters between an absolute must watch and a "Why the heck am I watching this?", though I'm not sure this game will really be able to do it justice. Made in Abyss deserves MonolithSoft-tier world design with FromSoft-tier gameplay/lore and an art style on par with Ni No Kuni, which is pretty much an impossible task. I also see no similarities to Breath of the Wild that aren't in a thousand other games. Even the basic gameplay loop seems more similar to a dungeon crawler or Monster Hunter.
So when this game was announced did someone break a game console? Did a bunch of people hold up a switch or a copy of BOTW and gave it the bird? I must know!

I’m still on the fence. Loved the anime because it was way darker than its art direction would make you believe.
One thing I need to know is that I can turn off the horrid English voices.
