After being closed for maintenance for a number of weeks, the My Nintendo Store online shop has reopened for business in Europe!
This was sent to us from Carlos A. Yllobre at Nintenderos, who informed us that the new store also comes with pre-order bonuses for Splatoon 3 as well as lower shipping rates — for Spanish orders, for example, you'll be able to get free shipping on anything over 24.99 euros!
The Splatoon goodies you can bag are a gym bag and a squid pin — the same as what we can get in the UK.
If you're based in Europe and have been waiting for the shop to reopen, hop on over to the My Nintendo Store right now!
Thanks again for the tip, Nintenderos!

And for some countries where they didn't support PayPal payment before, such as in the Netherlands, the My Nintendo Store DOES support this now!
Might be a good thing to mention as well. I was finally able to order something from this store because of this change, credit card is no longer required!
Same here. I ordered Xenoblade Chronicles 3 from the dedicated Irish Nintendo Store (which I couldn't do before, I could only order from the UK using a Parcel service, it was messy) and the shipping was free because it was over 24.99. I ordered from the Nintendo Store because it comes with a notebook and I'm a nerd for extras.
Parcel is on the way right now, estimated delivery in 3 days. It's like a dream come true and I look forward to be able to preorder the XC3 Collector's goodies on September.
Go take a look!
Just wish the My Nintendo rewards store in the UK had something new - after a decent period of new things, we haven't anything new since March (Earthbound notebook)
@Yosher Sadly, in the Netherlands they don't support the most commonly used payment method: iDeal. Also credit cards are required for pre-orders.
Nintendo just doesn't get the internet. I know of no other brand that takes down their web properties for weeks at a time for "maintenance."
I hope the EU store has better customer service than the UK one.
Still waiting on what happened to my N64 controllers from UK Store, it seems like they were dispatched but never made it to the Royal Mail and their customer service has passed my problem on to "the relevant team" I keep emailing them every week, but nothing.
Also I put in my "Review" on the site and even though I put everything on a really low score, the Reevoo put my review as "Overall Satified" what a load of crap.
@Yosher it is nice they support Pay-Pal now.
On the other side of the road Maestro is going to be discontinued and all Debit cards will be Mastercards, so the whole "I don't have a CC" will be less of a issue, because then Debit Cards and CC will use the exact same payment method.
And here I thought it was closed for something trivial
@Yosher Just had a look at the My Nintendo store in Australia, they still do not accept Paypal.
@sanderev Having PayPal is good though. It's a start. I would prefer iDeal too though but at least not having to have a credit card is nice.
@Rayquaza2510 Really? Huh, didn't hear about that I don't think. Wonder how that's all gonna work out then.
@Nintendzoey Was the Australia website down for a while as well? If so then I'm surprised that they don't accept PayPal for that one as well. Nintendo is really weird sometimes.
@Yosher Not sure if it was or not, have not used the My Nintendo store again after I found out that they would not accept Paypal. I was hoping that Nintendo might be starting to accept it worldwide now.. but it does not look like that is the case. 😔
@Nintendzoey Well, I hope for you and all other Nintendo fans in Australia that they'll follow suit before too long! I've been in that same boat for a good while myself until they finally added it in this week so I know what it's like.
If nothing else, at least you know that they're open to it? Maybe try sending them an email about it, and get others to do the same. That's what I did; maybe that helped, maybe it didn't, but it certainly won't hurt to try! That way they'll know people want alternative payment methods outside of credit card.
@Yosher I am happy for you, glad someone is finally able to use Paypal on the store! 😀
Yes, they should have at least more than one payment option available on the store, I am sure that not everyone wants to use their credit card.
The N64 retro controller is still not in stock in the French store, so for me, the site might as well stay offline.
Looks like they also removed some countries from the physical rewards with this update, like Denmark
The free shipping for Ireland is really good as before it use to be €14.
The big news here is the PayPay support, i really think the headline and the article should be rewritten accordingly.
@Kaldrith ‘I ordered Xenoblade Chronicles 3 from the dedicated Irish Nintendo Store (which I couldn't do before, I could only order from the UK using a Parcel service, it was messy) and the shipping was free because it was over 24.99. This would have pleased him or her, him I believe.
