Anime Expo 2022 is currently underway this weekend, and as part of this Aksys Games has announced several new titles during its own company panel. It's also showcasing a number of games at Booth 2011 in the Exhibit Hall throughout the weekend.
Here's the full round up:
Shuuen no Virche ~ErroЯ:Salvation [English title pending] - 2023
Surrounded by the sea and black flowers of misfortune, the citizens of Arpecheur are cursed to die by the age of 23. In this country possessed by the god of death, one young woman named Ceres seems to hasten the deaths of everyone she meets and decides to end her own life. But suddenly a mysterious man called the "watchman of death" appears before her and nothing will be the same.
Inescapable - 2023
Developed by Dreamloop Games, Inescapable is a social thriller set in a tropical island resort: you’ve been kidnapped and forced to participate in a twisted reality TV show with 10 strangers. At the end of your stay, you’ll receive $500,000. There’s just one catch - on the island there are no rules, and no escape. Inescapable’s story explores human nature and how far people will go for social clout, wealth, and their own desires—and how much further they might be willing to go when they have permission to ignore the rules.
Spirit Hunter: Death Mark II - 2023
The long-awaited sequel to 2018’s award-winning horror visual novel is coming to Western audiences in 2023.
Norn9: Var Commons & Last Era - 2023
Fan favorite Norrn9: Var Commons is coming to Nintendo Switch, followed by fandisc Last Era, localized for the first time in the West! In Var Commons, child prodigy Sorata finds himself swept back in time to a mysterious ship with three young women and eight other men on an adventure to uncover the secrets that lie in Norn! Last Era continues the team’s adventures in three exciting parts.
Radiant Tale - 2023
Tifalia longs for an eventful life and gets her wish when an unusual group calling themselves CIRCUS wander into her inn and press her into service as a producer. A crazy dragon that loves to tickle, a spikey clown that doesn't make you laugh, a water creature who doesn't want to use water magic, an acrobat who doesn't know how to entertain, a drunkard furball, an unmotivated leader, and an amateur producer who just joined. Can this show ever be a success?
Pups & Purrs Pet Shop - 2023

Pups & Purrs Pet Shop by Nippon Columbia (published by Aksys) ??
YAAAY....!!! 😃😃😃
Meh not a single trailer had gameplay footage at all except for that pet one. I'm guessing they're all just visual novels and nothing else.
so many visual novels. Inescapable looks similar to the zero escape game. My check that out.
Spirit Hunter: Death Mark II will be a day one purchase for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the first entry and can't wait to play its direct sequel next year.
Thoroughly enjoyed the original Death Mark, though. Definitely can use more horror VNs in my life.
@Serpenterror Yes Akysys is typically VN games and usually the Otome variant. The “gameplay” is the reading with dialogue choices + occasional tacked on mini-game
There are more “gameplay action” flavored VNs like Ace Attorney, Danganronpa, etc
@Royalblues guess I’m not the only one that thought that inescapable sounded like danganronpa.
I am looking forward to Norn9 coming to the switch with the fandisc. My copy with the psvita got stolen.
I love Aksys and Idea Factory.. Olympia Soiree is my personal favorite and one of the best VN for me. Everything about it is phenomenal from character, artwork, soundtrack and story.. a high quality VN worthy of my time and money.
Looking forward to Variable Barricade and Dairoku: Ayakashimori soon.. and more from this article.
I'm so there for Death Mark II, the first was an incredible horror VN.
All too weeby for me.
@Olympia I worked on porting both of those to Switch so glad to hear you enjoyed them!
Looking forward to Shuuen no Virche, Radiant Tale and Death Mark 2!
Shuuen no Virche is said to be have a lot of horror-like themes so I'm curious to see if it manages to make me uncomfortable. It's supposed to be gory too.
Death Mark 2 is also getting a Cero Z rating and I'm happy to find out why~
Love me some horror VNs~
@evanac yo what?
@evanac Wow.. saw your comment on few article about it. Thank you so much I really appreciate it! I wish these awesome VNs will get more support soon from otome and VN lovers
As much as I love Aksys, I personally don't see the point in Visual Novels. Sigh. I hope they bring more DRPGs to the West. But Yay for everyone that loves Visual Novels!
Pups & Purrs Pet Shop might need a new title for the German market
Inescapable and Death Mark II sound potentially interesting & good to me. But I think all of these require reliable reviewer reviews.
I have the first Death Mark but I'm yet to play it. It is something I want to play soon but I'm currently deep into Xenoblade.
I'll keep an eye out on Inescapable as well. I'll gladly support Finnish developers. I just hope the game has some originality. The trailer was basically just a carbon copy of Zero Escape's trailers.
@Olympia I'm glad people enjoy them. We like porting them as it's a nice collab with Aksys, plus we enjoy them too. I especially enjoyed Spirit Hunter: NG, which totally hooked me/creeped me out. ^^
Death mark 2?! YES PLEASE!!!!
Love me some horror visual novels, they are so rare! I liked Spirit hunter NG, but Death Mark was at another level: loved the stories, the scare, the end that I didn't see coming... if someone here know about some VN like this, please let me know!
For Otome games, Shuuen no Virche seems interesting, with a creepier theme and visuals. If inescapable is half as good as a Danganronpa game, then count me in too!
@Piyo extremely close-minded and uninformed comment. Aksys have a solid reputation and tmk don't make many mobile games.
Really looking forward to play Death Mark 2 on my Switch Pro in 4K in 2023.
