Lizardcube — one of the developers behind the excellent revival beat 'em up Streets of Rage 4 — has revealed that it's hiring for a brand new project.
Sharing the job listing on Twitter, the company is looking for a senior game/level designer to join its little team of seven in Paris to create a "new action game". Exciting!
Lizardcube is also behind Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap, the 2017 remake of Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap. So perhaps we've got another retro remake on our hands. Of course, it's probably a few years away yet, but we've liked everything we've seen from Lizardcube so far, so we're definitely intrigued.

Would be a decent position if it wasn’t in Paris.
Fingers crossed it's a new Shinobi game
It would be awesome if they remake Battletoads/Double Dragon: The Ultimate Team or make a sequel involving the two IPs again. I would buy that either way if that happens.
Maybe Streets of Rage 5. They could really make it their own without the expectations of giving so many nods and nostalgia to the earlier games that Streets of Rage 4 had.
But what I'd really love would be a new Golden Axe from them... 😍
I would also love to see a double dragon/ battletoads crossover again. But for the sake of something different I’d really like to see a comix zone side scroller return.
As much as I have loved both Dragon's Trap and Streets of Rage 4, I think I'd like to see them make an original IP. They've shown what they can do working with other people's work and characters and it's time to move on.
Or, if they really must continue working with old Sega IP, I'd take a new Shinobi.
Personally, I'm hoping for Golden Axe. I would love to see Ax Battler, Tyris Flare and all the various ogres and dragons done in their authentic-but-modern style.

@NinChocolate SoR4 is not all flash and no substance. People play beat em ups. They don't stare at them. Just because you don't like it, doesn't make it garbage. It's a great throwback to arcade co-op.
@Tempestryke the dig was not at lizard cube and SoR4, both of which I highly, highly regard. But instead at a plethora of games that have gone to great lengths to look very slick, but fall down completely in proper design.
