I’ve heard this game is great. $39.99 for the physical seems like a good deal. Any disagreement let me hear it.

I usually just wait for games to go 75% off on the eshop, but I'm really tempted to get this physical. It's definitely competing with Bayonetta 3 for a slot in my library, though hopefully I'll end up with both at some point.

One of my favorite games on ps4, the story, gameplay, and musics are really really good. I played it more than 100 hours to get all the ending on ps4 back then.

Also it's nice that switch get the japan game cover, it's better than the ps4 usa game cover.

I've missed this the last 20 times it was rereleased over the years...and still not sold. Will wait for a meaty sale in the future though and maybe get to try it.

@GameOtaku Platinum Games is known for their solid framerates on all games they develop. I am sure this was a non-issue for them.

I guess Square Enix listened to the outcry after the Kingdom Hearts debacle. Not only do we get a non-cloud version, we get a physical release that is fairly priced. Now if they could do this for Tomb Raider and Deus Ex, that would be cool.

That is a really good price for the game, was almost expecting it to launch at full price, the only question now is the performance, if it is solid it could be worth a pickup.

Aaaaaand preordered! I talked some light smack on the game in a previous post or two but like I said, I’d probably get it. Well here we are… I might enjoy it more on Switch and also, I have to support these full, all-on-the-cart physical releases.
@DesertRainReads you make a good point about Platinum/frame rate. That’s sort of what my inner monologue was but you put it into words. I’m a little nervous for a day one buy (as I am for any game anymore), but I think if anything, Platinum will do this justice.

I'm honestly surprised Square is charging only $40 for the Switch version, especially if the game comes complete on cart! Another game I already own but didn't finish on PS5, because I most likely got distracted by some other game. I'll gladly buy another copy to play in portable mode!

Personally I, too, can do without the "revealing outfit" DLC, but to each their own. Japanese dialogue and songs are absolutely mandatory for me, though. Hopefully the NA release will include and spare me from having to import a cartridge from Japan later.

Where you seeing the Switch JPN version at?

Fantastic game, passing only because I already have it on Steam.

I got partway through Automata when it was on Gamepass, it's fantastic. I might have to pick this up just so I can finish it.

Random comparison, but follow me here...Going by what little I've seen of NieR, would I enjoy it if Scarlett Nexus is one of my favorite games from 2021?

I feel like they could be comparable...somehow.

No "Download Required" banner on the front, which either means Square-Enix has learned to put that on the back instead of ruining good box art, or the whole game is on the cartridge, and that's a step up from Life is Strange: True Colors, let alone Kingdom Hearts.

For those not in the know, the "Revealing women's clothing" is Kainé's outfit from the first Nier.

I hope this means we may also get Replicant, and that it pushes enough sales to get the Gestalt version of the story added as DLC (as they said they might if the sales were good enough)

How weird! I see what you mean - when I search Amazon JP for "Nier Automata Switch" nothing comes up.

But search for it with the Japanese title "ニーア オートマタ Switch" and the page I linked above pops right up!
Maybe their keywords just aren't optimized well?

Sometimes I've seen games (like Zero/Fatal Frame: The Maiden of Black Water) export-restricted on Amazon JP and I've had to resort to Japanese sellers on eBay, but this Nier listing does not seem to mention restrictions.

Tempting to go for the DLC but I'm very concerned that this game is going to run like a lame slug on Switch. Square Enix have not proven themselves good custodians of our trust in the past.

@TMNHertl doubt a port will get that title. Especially when 3d Kirby, Mario + rabbids 2, and xb3 are all contenders
