Nintendo is slowly but surely keeping the conversation around Splatoon 3 alive via its official Twitter profile. Over the course of the last few days, weapons for the upcoming game have been shown off, detailing their purpose and how you can utilise them to full effect. We have to say they're looking pretty delicious!
It's been previously confirmed that Splatoon 3 will contain all main weapons from previous instalments, and we've also been treated to glimpses of new special weapons including the Triple Inkstrike and the Ink Vac.
Take a look at some of the confirmed weapons via the embedded Tweets below:
Nintendo has also provided a brief peek at how banners and titles will work in the new game. We're hoping to see more information around new features and modes in the coming weeks and months.
Are you looking forward to Splatoon 3? Are you still playing either of the first two entries? Let us know!

I love the (probably a sniper rifle?) that looks like it has a bottle of dish soap stuffed into the back end.
Now... NintendoLife commenters don't make a "Splatoon 2.5" joke challenge GO!
Why not link the tweets sharing this same information that are in, you know, English...

I wish they'd use them on Twitter. On the users...
@Lordplops Well if we used them all up on Twitter users, then there'd be none left to use on Redditors. You have to conserve.
@AlternateRT Yep, good spot! Updated
@ObeseChihuahua2 @Lordplops You guys are a trip Lol, that gave me a good chuckle.
I can’t wait to get this game, it just sucks they kinda pushed the game back with no really, the game is getting pushed back statement, they kept saying summer all the way up to the gameplay lol.
@Bret I'm not even sure why people who don't actually play the game act like splatoon 3 will be the same as splatoon 2 even though some splatoon fans on this website have explain how different it will be with movement options like the squid roll and surge.
@Corrupted-gamer people just look at inkling movement and base weapons and think "yup they didnt change anything" ignoring how the regularly replaced subs and specials bring a whole new meta and playstyle to the game, and now the characters are getting new movesets. its become an inside joke at this point but its also a shame for people to actually believe they dont try with this series
More elegant weapons from a more civilized age.
@boxyguy can you give me a little rundown on differences? My only issues and it obviously won’t change is there won’t be split screen multiplayer. I hate having to pass the remote back and forth and fighting with my kids over who turn it is to play.
@Bret Man Splatoon 2.5 loo.. DAMN IT!!!
@Qwertyninty same here. No split screen and no battle against Bots (all game modes)...i won´t buy any Splatoon without it - no matter what
@Qwertyninty yeah splatoon lack of local multiplayer options is pretty baffling, even the wii u made an attempt with one.
main difference comes with the design philosophy between games. 1 playing more aggressive with OP specials and abilities. 2 trying to balance specials, less powerful and easier to use? like you can activate most of them anywhere with less commitment. from the looks of trailers 3 seems to have a higher skill ceiling, with specials being less spammable and more team focused. and having new movement options gives new strategies for your weapons kits too
the technical changes probably wont be noticed by most players, i think in general shooting games have a harder time conveying gameplay changes. but for me the splatoon series do lend themselves to diff playstyles. 3 looks like its returning to a more aggressive playstyle thats balanced better
@Rykdrew I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to hear someone else say that. Most time people make me feel like I’m crazy for wanting this. It seems like such a lack and missing feature. I personally won’t purchase another one maybe ever I guess. Talking wit other people that are fans of the series they don’t think it will ever happen.
@Qwertyninty Me too.
I want a game to play with my wife as a team. Like we play Mario Kart 8 Deluxe or Rocket League, or Gears of War.
I don't want a game where 90% of the content will become paperweight in a few years because the servers have been shut down.
I will never buy Splatoon as long as it is like this. It's the same reason I don't and won´t buy the great game called FAERIA.
Never. I want to play the same game for many years, without having to buy a new version to play the same thing, just because they decided to close the servers to make us pay again.
@Rykdrew if there is anyone that understands your viewpoint it’s me. I was thinking of trying the sniper elite series. They have a local split screen mode that supposed to be pretty good. Have you thought of that one?
