Update #2 [Tue 31st May, 2022 03:15 BST]: Nintendo has now patched this Kirby 64 game-breaking bug in Version 2.3.1 of the Switch Online N64 app. You can learn more in our latest post:


Update [Fri 27th May, 2022 16:10 BST] Nintendo has today confirmed that it's working on a patch to fix the bug plaguing Kirby 64 fans. The patch is expected to drop next week, and we'll update you all as soon as it does.

Original article [Sat 21st May, 2022 04:45 BST] A game-breaking bug has reportedly been discovered in the Switch Online version of Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards.

The latest glitch has been shared via the Nintendo Switch subreddit - with a player showcasing how Kirby can be stunned "forever" when hit by certain damage sources in underwater levels/sections. This supposedly wasn't an issue on original N64 hardware.

There's no way to resolve this bug, so the only option left is to quit the level and restart it. Here's a look:

Nintendo has been rolling out regular patches for the Nintendo 64 Switch Online app, so hopefully, it will release a fix for this sooner rather than later. You can see the most recent update to the app in the post below:

A previous update to the N64 app in February made a number of improvements to existing titles - including restoring the fog in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
