We hope you haven't forgotten that we're getting Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil on Switch this summer! The Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series puts two beloved entries in the series together in one package, and even gives our fluffy dog/cat/rabbit dream traveller friend a bit of a tidy-up.
Yesterday, the Bandai Namco US Twitter account took the time to remind us that yes, the collection is coming, and you didn't dream it up. Not only that, Phantasy Reverie Series will be adding a few new features to both games.
These are all small but welcome additions, we think! Difficulty modes will add to the games' replayability — especially that hard mode. And the ability to play the game in two-player co-op means you can play this with a friend and share the dream traveller experience with them!
Bandai Namco Europe also had some lovely new artwork to share of the cast from both games from Klonoa's character designer Yoshihiko Arawi — who's also written for the series, and worked on Star Fox: Assault and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Pre-orders for Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series have also gone live. You can get the game from a bunch of UK / EU retailers, with Amazon being the cheapest at the time of writing.

While Europe and Japan will be getting physical editions (along with Japan's rather lovely special edition, which we desperately want), only a digital release has been confirmed in North America at the moment. We hope to hear that's not the case in the coming weeks!
Will you be pre-ordering Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series? Let us know down below.

Extras are always nice. Will definitely be picking this up since I'm based in the UK. Hope the game does get a physical release in North America though
Already got it pre-ordered (UK)
For US and Canadian customers looking to get a EU copy of the game, I would suggest these stores:
US: https://www.shop4megastore.com/nintendo-switch-games/klonoa-phantasy-reverie-series-nintendo-switch-game
Canada: https://videogamesplus.ca/collections/all-nintendo-switch/products/klonoa-phantasy-reverie-series-switch-pegi-import
Both these stores import stock and ship them domestically, so no international shipping charges.
Loved these games on the PS as well as Klonoa on the Wii. Insta-buy. Preferably physical
Very glad to see the Easy difficulty. Always struggled with these games and their difficulty.
America has no physical edition announced? Even Australia has a physical edition announced, and we”re usually the ones who miss out on these things, although it’s $89aus in our stores and ordering a European copy was only $60aus.
@RupeeClock shop4 also exists for canada and this actually comes out a bit cheaper than vgp in this case

@denpanosekai
That's cool, I didn't know Xbite had a Canadian operation too.
I often shop from 365games, which is their UK operation.
They similarly will import US or JP/ASIA stock domestically, as long as it has Englisn language support.
@AndyC_MK111 I played that demo so many times!
What I want to know is... How does the co op work?
@HollowSpectre In 2 on PS2, the second player could control Popka to give Klonoa a boost while jumping, but I assume it'll be much more than that. Probably just a second character on screen playing. Not sure how it'll work in Door to Phantomile with Huepow. Maybe similar to Mario Galaxy?
Wow is coming to Xbox One too?!
I did not know that system was still getting games.
@AlanaHagues Aye you're probably right. I'm still gonna get it either way!
I really hope that the music for both games is remastered. The original music was an an absolute masterpiece.
But it would be nice to bring it up to date.
I'm going to wait a bit for a North American preorder release, but if nothing comes, I'll try and get some kind of UK order for a physical copy. I can't see why they wouldn't have North American copies though. It would already be in english for the UK.
Very interested in that multiplayer!
That's good news, going to pick these up for sure. See Sega this is how you announce extra with your collection, no confusing chart in sight.
@AndyC_MK111 : Loved the demo CDs/DVDs from years gone by. Of course my computer was always horribly out-of-date and was rarely able to run any of the included demos, but I was still very fond of the publications and their discs.
To think that Sony themselves commissioned tailor-made discs every month to complement their magazines. What a deal!
I was just thinking earlier today how cool a return of the Nintendo magazine would be, complete with exclusive demos/trailers and perhaps even full ROMs of classic games on a cartridge every month or so. Of course that would never happen in this day and age, but a guy can dream.
@RupeeClock Thanks! I'll wait to see what's happening for a US release first. Hopefully it's announced soon
I like the series back on psone back then, can't wait to replay it on my switch 😃
A shame the tweets confirm hard mode needs to be unlocked by beating the game once, though if max health and damage are the only changes than it's not a big deal.
Probably gonna preorder it later on. I was honestly more interested in a new game, but it's a miracle Namco remembered about Klonoa at all, we gotta make sure they know players wants to support the little fella ;w;
@Pandy-the-Panda : We usually get whatever Europe gets, and even then, we miss out on a lot in that department as well (owing to our minuscule market), but at least region locking is no longer an issue. While local releases are preferable, I don’t get the complaining either.
@Pandy-the-Panda It is strange. America and Japan have always been the two largest console gaming markets. But America never gets any of the extras, or special things, or bonuses, or physical releases... etc.
Looking forward to having this physically!
@Chibi_Manny Most Xbox games are still releasing with both an Xbox One and a Series S|X version. I have seen very few that are S|X only so far.

Suggestion: Separate releases for the "Klonoa: Door to Phantomile" and "Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil" mentioned in this article (especially for any being who might have had only a certain other "Door to Phantomile" game, a certain other "Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil" game, or a certain "Klonoa" game for certain other systems (specifically certain PlayStation, PlayStation 2, and Nintendo Wii systems respectively)).
why did that tweet not say switch?
Wow no NA physical release? Incredibly sad news for me. I'll import one if I have to. I don't understand why you wouldn't have a NA physical copy. Would look great on my shelf (and in my switch) next to my other copies of Klonoa.
I'm so glad we're getting these. Klonoa was always one of those underappreciated gems that sort of got forgotten as time went by and now hopefully a much larger audience can appreciate them.
Hopefully it gets a physical release in the us and if they don’t them I’m just gonna have to convince my mom to import cause I wanna have a physical klonoa game gosh darnit!!!
I'll get the European one if I have to, but I hate that the PEGI ratings don't have neutral colors like the ESRB's white and black. The ratings never go well with a game's cover art style.
These games just make me happy. And I haven’t even played a Klonoa before. 😌
(Intended to play it on the Wii, but sorta took a break from gaming for a good 5 years or so.)
Also, physical release for ‘Merica would be great, but if not, should I go with a European, Asian, or Japanese import? Leaning Japanese.
@InkIdols Probably Switch version had a different release date.
Extras are not exactly exciting, but definitely welcome and also just some nice insurance that this release won’t be docked in reviews as much for being “too bare bones.”
@InkIdols Originally, the collection was going to be coming to Switch first. Other consoles were confirmed but with no date (https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2022/02/klonoa-phantasy-reverie-series-remasters-the-playstation-platformers-for-ps5-ps4)
The tweet from yesterday confirms that all other releases will now be coming out on the same day. So I suppose it doesn't mention the Switch version because we already knew it was coming on 8th July
Yea cmon you GOTTA have a physical edition for North America in the plans Namco! Would be a Day one for sure!
@DrJoson definitely needs a USA release. I myself am stop debating over the Euro or Asian version as they both have English.
