If you love relaxing music, painterly aesthetics, and gardening, then you'll likely enjoy upcoming Switch game The Garden Path, and also, retirement. Developed, illustrated, and composed by British jack-of-all-trades Louis Durrant, AKA carrotcake, The Garden Path was successfully funded on Kickstarter last year and recently announced that it would be coming to PC, Linux and Switch in 2022.
As part of indie showcase The MIX, which takes place every year at the Game Developers' Conference, a new gameplay trailer was premiered for The Garden Path, which you can see above. The trailer shows off new characters, dialogue, and character customisation, as well as mechanics like digging, whistling, building, and making tea.
The Garden Path has no exact release date yet, but while you wait, you can read our interview with carrotcake to find out more about his musical influences!

Wow, this looks great. I'm really starting to get in the mood for a relaxing gardening/farming game. This looks like it'll scratch that itch just fine.
Looks nice, would be a good game to relax with.
So is it a game about gardening or is it a game about collecting humanoids with edible heads? Really, I didn't see any gardening.
This game and retirement both sound great. I’ll keep an eye out.
"video games are not art!"
