It's just a couple of weeks until the release of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and still we know relatively little about the game — we know it will take place in the past, in the new/old Hisuian region, with new/old variants and evolutions of existing Pokémon. We know there will also be crafting, as players will have to invent and then create their own Poké Balls from materials foraged in the wild.
The latest Pokémon Legends: Arceus trailer doesn't really shine a light on any of the larger mysteries, but we do get to see Snorlax punch a tree, and new evolution Wyrdeer cantering through what looks like the entrance to some kind of temple. There's also a meaningful zoom-in on what we can only assume is the crafting workbench, and not just a picnic basket — we've already seen it outside the game's Craftworks.
Plus, right at the end, you can hear Arceus' theme start to play...
Did this trailer convince you to buy the game? Are you still on the fence? Let us know in the comments!

I like knowing relatively little when starting out on a new adventure.
Okay this trailer awakened something in me lol.
I heard crafting, and the battle system, i like.
But still i want to know a little bit about the story.
@SupDan
prolly just one hub imo. seems like a settlement from which to go out and explore and build that pokedex.
The graphics are luckluster and lazy for sure but this shouldn't be an issue for pokemon fans
Man, those textures! I recently got into Vita collecting, and I can't help but think all of Game Freak's Switch releases are Vita-tier in terms of graphics. It's unfortunate because the Switch can do so much more.
I get it, gameplay over graphics. But honestly pokemon gameplay isn't all that great, and graphics are an integral part to the expirience.
Will there be a demo ?
Man, I was already all for this game before snorlax punched a tree, but now that he's done that, how can I not need this right now!?
Pokémon Stories looks great.
This is the first Pokémon game in a long while I'm not sold on. Maybe it's because of so many back-to-back duds, but I'm just worried it's gonna suck. In fact the only thing making me still want to buy it Day One is because you know every website will have videos & articles on them plastered with unavoidable spoilers.
i will wait for the reviews, before i consider buying the game, since gen 6 the franchise have been a letdown for me.
I'm still going to wait for reviews, but dang, This looks pretty good, I mean come on you see!
@Would_you_kindly There hasn't been a demo since Sun/Moon. Most likely because people kept datamining them and then leaked pokemon/forms that weren't meant to be revealed yet
@mariomaster96 ahh shame I'd like to have tried it might've taken the risk & bought it if it was cheaper
@SupDan Arceus isn't open world and there is a single hub town.
I will get it on release as its pokemon but man the graphics/textures still tick me off, the grass looks the same from the pokepark game on the wii lol
@SupDan personally I kind of hope it is far more open and player driven than the last few games, the idea of 'heres the main hub, here's a few pokeballs, your starter and your goal to complete the first Pokédex, ok go!' sounds awesome too me.
I think the last few got way to bogged down with cinematics and story, and I don't mind the open world being empty of landmarks and towns provided the Pokémon themselves are interesting to see and find, but that's just me.
@mariomaster96 Wrong. Let's Go has a demo, you can DL it right now.
@Would_you_kindly : Probably not at launch. But I suspect that one may come along a little later.
This game looks good, it's a perfect mix of Pokémon and Monster Hunter. Sure, it's not a full open world Pokémon game, but they never said it would be.
A truly open world Pokémon game should come some day, but the Switch clearly isn't powerful enough. Maybe next console gen?
So excited for the art design/aesthetic that I'm ordering the Hori Split Pad as soon as it goes live! And I might even splurge on the case as well.
@Meteoroid I'm honestly just interested to see where it goes. I don't feel much in terms of excitement, since I haven't properly felt like that for pokemon in a long while, but hopefully this one will be good!
@abdias Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. Ok then let me correct myself:
There wasn't a demo BEFORE the release of the game since Sun/Moon. Let's Go got its demo 3 months after it released
Still nice for people who haven't played it til then but many people want demos before the game releases
Crafting is such a hilarious addition that I will absolutely use and abuse, thank you very much.
@UltimateOtaku91 I said it in another thread but I bloody love Pokepark. If anything, it was a precursor to PLA in how it was free-roaming Pokemon game, which for the time was groundbreaking so in a way, we have the awkward child that no-one talks about-the game to thank for getting here in the first place.
@Meteoroid Obviously, the Switch is more powerful than the Vita. I acknowledged that in my comment, so I don't know why you're trying to tell me that. What I was actually getting at, however, is the comparison between a few Vita games I've been playing and what we've seen from PL:A. If you weren't being deliberately obtuse, you'd have acknowledged I was referring to textures (which I specifically mentioned), character models, environments and the like.
If it's not clear already, you've been eviscerated for trying to oppose my point. The killing blow was already dealt, so these are just style points I'm accruing, and I'm going for the high score.
I compiled a gallery comparing screenshots of a few Vita games and PL:A. You're lying if you don't think these are comparable on a surface level.

It doesn't matter if the game is open world or not, and PL:A isn't, by the way. If screenshots between decade-apart AAA releases are indistinguishable to the point of arguing semantics, e.g., "but this is bigger", there's a problem.
Don't bother replying, as I've already won and probably won't care to read your response.
Those textures and framerate though 😬 I’m rooting for Pokémon Legends : Arceus but I’m highly sceptical from everything I’ve seen so far. Think the transition to HD might just have been too much, too soon for Game Freak. The world looks bland and empty. Maybe there’s unique mechanics and exceptional gameplay that we’ve not seen who knows. That would still make this game decent. I’m doubtful lol
That's a cool trailer, you can tell it's made by americans and not based on the japanese ones because of the epic cuts and music, and also the classical sexy deep male voice lol I like these 2000s-style trailers, all trailers from 3-5 were like that in the west.
so it looks like Pokemon Go gameplay without getting off the couch
