Roughly a year after Elasto Mania's remaster was locked in for a Switch release, it's now been confirmed for a January 26 release. Yes, that's right - the cult classic indie motorbike game released in 2000 is back.
That's next week and follows on from the Elasto Mania Remastered skipping its original 2021 release date on the platform. As they say though - better late than never!
"Elasto Mania Remastered is ready to go and will be available on all major platforms on January 26!"
This new version contains unreleased higher quality original graphic assets, an online challenge mode (coming free in a future update), all of the game's original levels (and additional level packs), local & online leaderboards, a split-screen local multiplayer mode, and more.
Do you have any memories of the original game yourself? Will you be checking out the remaster on Switch? Comment below.

Nope! No! Let me post…
This is a blast from the past @LiamDoolan Excite Bike meets Joe Danger etc.
I don't remember the name but I sure as hell remember the gameplay. Fun times back in the day, but I wonder how it's gonna hold up today.
I noticed it while browsing the eShop earlier this week. It had been so long since they announced it that I'd pretty much forgotten about it. I'll probably end up buying it later. Got my hands full at the moment.
Their website says "Elasto Mania (or as commonly known: Elma)"
.. which definitely rings more of a bell than Elasto Mania does..
I think I used to play the browser version of Trials in ICT classes at school in like 2003.
This kind of looks like shovelware. Does it really have a cult following?
I can hear my dad saying 'Cult? Oh, you mean rubbish.'
This game is so great. I remember being so addicted to both playing and creating levels
Is this a flash game?
This looks like a game you would find on cool math games.
Funny how half of the people in the comments are ones who've played it and are saying it's great, yet the other half is dismissing it and calling it bad. If you go and Google it, Google shows 96% liked it and Steam has 144 user reviews, all positive. I understand it looks ugly but it's fun. Though I can't really compare it to modern takes on the same formula. I have Trials Rising but I'm yet to try it.
@Late
How is saying it looks like a flash game bad. Fancy pants and run were my childhood.
Brilliant game, it’ll be great to have it on Switch! I hope someone at Super Rare is a fan… 🤞
Looks like a flash game I used to play when we used laptops in school
You youngsters dismissing this duebto the visuals.
This is Indie before indie was a term, this indie when that meant a guy or a couple of dudes in their basement making games.
It was simple, fun, small (ie easy to copy onto a floppy and bring to a friend or run on the school computer lab)
There is lots of nostalgia here, but this is from a time where these graphics signaled indie game, not shovelware.
Cool, now can we have Supaplex and Rollin please All the great games we played in school.
Wow, I feel so old. I remember it was really fun. Can't wait to try it out!
I remember playing this in school during breaks. I sucked at it though.
Can't wait for the 10/10 review for this certified classic!
This will be my GOTY for 2022. It's bloody brilliant.
@Ladasta
Same here but they weren’t exactly breaks for me.
Looks like garbage. I’ll stick to Trials Rising which you can pick up pretty cheaply.
This was great. One of those simple but brilliant games. Too bad the new version of Deluxe Ski Jumping sucks.
@blindsquarel you mean you played most of the days and took breaks to go to school?
Played this game a lot with both my dad and cousin when I was a kid
@Ladasta
No, more like during science.
Played Elasto mania as a nipper with my dad, was great. I’ll be picking this up!
@Gavintendo ehhh, it's not like it has a "cult" following, but quite a lot of people have fond memories playing it as kids at a school computer or something
The only shovelware I want is a new crush the castle
I haven't played this game since 2007 or so!
This, GTA Vice City (and 3) and NFS Hot Pursuit (1998) were the most replayed games on my PC back then. Used to suck at it but now I find it much more enjoyable on Switch! Definitely worth its 9 Euros and I'd recommend it to anyone who loves Trials-like games
PS, this is one of those rare Switch games that unexpectedly uses the HD Rumble as it should, it really feels like you are holding a motorbike in your hands!
@Gavintendo I bought it with ZERO hesitation despite it being free on pc.
