You might consider yourself to be a really serious Pokémon fan because you own all of the games, as well as a few plush toys and a (totally unironic) Ash Ketchum cap, but if you're truly dedicated to the brand then you'll have to up your game to the tune of $25,000 because The Pokémon Company has teamed up with the French crystal manufacturer Baccarat to present a trio of special collectable items to mark the 25th anniversary of the monster-catching series.
At the lower end of the scale, there's a 5.7 inch Pikachu figure for $440, as well as a crystal Poké Ball which is 2.7 inches tall and will set you back a cool $410.
However, the centrepiece of the collection is the 11.8 inch-tall “Pikachu Fragment”, designed by Hiroshi Fujiwara. Only 25 of these will be made, and it costs a whopping $25,000. Sheesh.

Let us know if you're even remotely considering spending cash on any of these items by posting a comment below.

Absolutely, who doesn't?
Still cheaper than a few Pokemon cards being sold.
A perfect example of money not being able to buy taste.
Is it heavy enough to knock a burglar unconscious with? If I was willing to waste $25k on this I would probably have more useless expensive nonsense worth stealing.
Lol no thanks
I don’t hate the PokèBall but I don’t have that kind of money. If I did I think it’s kind of a classy looking nerd piece though.
Same energy as that Disney junk they sell at Swarovski.
A small price to pay for salvation
Hmm...let me just ask my walle-SMACK!
Ow! Erm...yeah...that's a nope here.
I do like the 5 inch Pokeball
When I said I wanted a Pokemon Crystal remake, this wasn't exactly what I had in mind.
@GrailUK Yours just smacks you? Mine clamps down on my fingers and angrily chews on them until I change my mind.
I imagine they are only making 25 of them because they could only find 25 people willing to buy it.
@Tyranexx !!! Wallets are cruel masters indeed

The instructions for embedding a video here don't work anymore.
Honestly... sounds like a solid investment. Looks absolutely gorgeous. I imagine a poker player or James Bond villain using one as a totem.
That Pikachu may be diamond, but some of the comments in this thread are comedy gold. XD

@TheBigK How many?
Rich people stuff.
@Damo Slight typo on the height! According to the website, the priciest Pika is 11.8 inches, not 1.8!
Everybody: LOL, what kind of rube would buy this worthless junk!
Also everybody: I really love my girlfriend and we want to form a lifelong commitment, but how will I convince her I'm serious if I don't spend my next three paychecks on an inherently worthless polished lump of compressed coal?
A crystal skull pikachu.. sounds tacky
@Maxz Thanks! Fixed!
@JasmineDragon I just got her coal of the uncompressed variety and she seemed happy enough with that.
“It burns like my love for you: hot, noxious, and capable of destroying the earth”
I’m nothing if not romantic.
It looks really nice but I DEFINITELY don’t have $25,000 to buy it lol
@GrailUK Cruel AND strict!
@Kyloctopus Of the three, the Pokeball looks best to me too.
I’m just imagining some 10 year old royal getting one of these as a just because present.
These look so tacky..
I like it, I could never afford it and probably wouldn't buy it if I could. But it's fun!
I would buy it if I had many millions. But I dont
god the pokeball looks nice
Millionaires stocking fillers!
Only 25 being made??? I was planning on buying at least a few hundred. Lame.
