The point & click genre has been having a rather enjoyable renaissance in recent years with the Switch eShop being well supported. Another that's due soon is VirtuaVerse, developed by Theta Division, which launches on 28th October.

As you can see in the trailer above it's going for a hacker / cyperpunk vibe in the 'not-so-distant' future; you can see some of its Steam description below.

In a future not too far away, one Artificial Intelligence has prevailed over all other AIs and their governments. Society has migrated to a permanently integrated reality connected to a single neural network that continuously optimizes people's experiences by processing personal data.

Nathan, an outsider still refusing to comply with the new system, makes a living off the grid as a smuggler of modded hardware and cracked software. Geared with his custom headset, he is among the few that can still switch AVR off and see reality for what truly is.

User reviews on Steam are broadly very positive; some of the negatives cited have revolved around the difficulty (perhaps obscurity) of some puzzles, though the developers have since added an 'easy' mode which will hopefully feature in the Switch version.

The developer has also confirmed on social media that the Switch version includes touchscreen support, which is an extremely welcome addition for those that enjoy tackling these sorts of games in portable mode.

Let us know what you think of VirtuaVerse in the comments!
