UK physical chart data is now in for the week ending 25th September, revealing that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has once again screeched into first place.
The game leads a top three made up exclusively of Switch games, with Minecraft and Animal Crossing: New Horizons following close behind. Last week's number one Deathloop falls to fifth spot, while Sega's latest release, Lost Judgment, debuts in fourth.

Next week Fifa 22 will be number 1.
and the week after that!
I guess Argos or somewhere had a sale on New Super Lucky's Tale?
I really do need to play this game, but the backlog is too big.
Nice to still see WarioWare hanging in there! 😄
@ItsJustAnotherGamer The fact that it's still in the Top 10 in it's third week I thought was pretty impressive. Was expecting it to be out by it's second week. I still need to pick up a copy, will definitely do that by Christmas
Great news, but this disincentives release of Mario Kart 9.
In before the Mario Kart 9 comm-DAMMIT!
I still haven't grabbed Warioware (honestly, October is killing my wallet!) but I will buy it eventually.
I'm glad Super Mario 3d world is still selling well, Bowser's fury alone could compete with big AAA titles as a game of the year imo, it really is THAT good
@Burning_Spear It doesn't really matter since there won't be MK9 on Switch anyway most likely. I think at this point it's way smarter for Nintendo to launch the Switch 2 (or whatever) with a new MK and I think it's not unlikely that this is going to happen
Nintendo is the big winner in the chip shortage debacle….amazing that some idiots were saying that they should focus on software and not produce any more hardware.
Think about it. People out there are going to want a new system for Xmas. It will be impossible to find the Series X and Ps5. People will end up getting a Switch bc it’s the only thing available. And in turn, of course they will buy more MK8D…get used to seeing this for a while.
@RupeeClock Amazon had it at £9.99 https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/new-super-luckys-tale-cartridge-nintendo-switch-ps999-at-amazon-3794440
@RupeeClock I can see that Argos have New Super Lucky's Tale for £9.99, however it is the download code only version so there is a catch and it's possible a lot of people bought it without realising. Either way, it is an excellent game
Mario Kart 8, Forza and Forza Horizon is the 3 most fun racing games this gen too.
Regarding MK9. It’s possible we could see it on Switch, perhaps E3 next year, and it will have DLC. Then it can be released again for Switch 2 as MK9 Deluxe with all the DLC included.
Sad for Lost Judgment. I know this is a Nintendo site, and we will probably never get any Yakuza titles or spin-offs on Switch, but this is a series that deserves so much more love than it gets.
@KiraMoonvalley
Yeah I’m sure the online won’t be a ghost town especially if the membership price for 64 games ends up being ridiculous.
@Krull
I’m not.
If they are not satisfied with sales there is nothing stopping them from porting this or the earlier Yakuza games to a very popular platform like the Switch that can run games of that level just fine.
The only thing stopping it is the Yakuza producer convinced a Nintendo platform wouldn’t suit a series like Yakuza and by extension Judgment likely due to the common misguided misconception that only kids play on a Switch,
Man, Minecraft is on the list AGAIN. People really love Minecraft.
Not that I blame them though considering I have Minecraft on Switch
Obligatory reminder that we're never getting Mario Kart 9 at this rate.
They probably already considered the idea of releasing major DLC for MK8DX given its continuing success. But I suppose people would start complaining if they milked it like Rockstar does with GTA V.
@RupeeClock I’ve coincidentally just played NSLT and it’s only around a 6 hour game. It also isn’t very difficult. I played it in bite sized sessions and overall it was a short and fun experience.
Of course mileage may vary, but for me, it really didn’t take much of my time.
@Arawn93 you can't ignore how bad the game sold on Wii U dude.
@ModdedInkling nah, if they released good updates (aka more balanced tracks) then people would not complain. The issue with Gta v is that it has become pay to win and rockstar refuses to release any singleplayer content.
@kobashi100 You can’t ignore the Switch isn’t remotely in the same position as the Wii U and the Switch has been out for years “dude”.
I thought New Super Lucky's Tale was a fun little game, back when it originally released on the Nintendo Switch.
I guess we won't see a GTA VI any time soon. Not when the milking of GTA V is still going strong.
@Burning_Spear Good. Wouldnt want MK9 on the Switch. Id rather it be a launch window title on Switchs successor.
@Scoopz I guess I agree, but for those of us who played it to death on the Wii U, it has been quite a wait for fresh Mario Kart content.
