The release of Metroid Dread is upon us and to fill in time until its arrival, we present you with what's being described as a "first look" inside the game's retail case for the US market.
As you can see, the case itself is quite empty (as most Nintendo game cases are nowadays), but there is some lovely artwork on display - showing off a wireframe version of Samus.
In addition to this standard retail release, there's also a Metroid Dread special edition physical release and Metroid amiibo double pack featuring Samus and E.M.M.I.
Will you be picking up a physical copy of Metroid Dread when it arrives on 8th October? Tell us down below.

How are people getting this stuff early.....I thought the release date was October 8th?
@tonyp1987 Probably broken street dates and press release copies.
It is a simple thing, but I always really enjoy when there's some art on the inside of the case. I know most (all?) first party games do it, but some others do too. This looks slick.
Am I the only one who misses the days of instruction manuals being included in the box of every game? It saddens me to see these Nintendo Switch boxes with a section that's designed specifically for an instruction manual but are left empty.
Depends on how Amazon fast delivers. Hoping to get it on October 8th... or before 😉
alright, it actually looks pretty cool in there
Dear Nintendo Life, if possible, could you please show the inside box art for games during the review.
Also Nintendo Life you could have a series like Box Art Brawls were one Switch game battles itself. Outside art vs inside art. You can call it Inner Conflict.
@SpiritOfTheHero Not at all. I miss those days as well.
@SpiritOfTheHero there’s a lot that I miss from the early days of my childhood.
Game manuals are one of them.
@SpiritOfTheHero Same here. I opened up my copy of The Red Strings Club just yesterday and there was a beautiful little manual in there that obviously had some effort put into it. It's not a huge thing but physical Switch games that only consist of the box and the cartridge just always feel a little incomplete.
Love the cool screen shots on back of case
Can confirm after chatting with my distributor that the UK release has the same internal art along with a poster and a sticker sheet for a limited time.
@Gwynbleidd member when every game used to have an instruction manual? member?
@tonyp1987 its someone work in store who took this picture its out in some store but can sell it 8th oct first but they have in warehouse ready
It would of been amazing had it had a retro style box art on the flip.
Nice pic and all, but is this really news, though?
Ooooooo, aaaaahhhh!
@SpiritOfTheHero i miss it too. I loved having a flick through the book that came with War groove and Hades. Giving character backgrounds etc. Made it feel old school.
God, the 8th can't come fast enough.
Inner Switch case art is hit or miss for me. Some games have great art or even feature reversible covers (like Ys IX for example). Then others...have just a soulless white on the inside. I do appreciate art and effort.
Know what I'd appreciate more? If actual manuals came back. The last title I remember having anything was my LRG copy of Return of the Obra Dinn, but that was obviously a special case.
this is honestly pretty sick. going digital but this case is gorgeous
Looking forward to the second look.
SPOILERS! I was hoping to see the inside of the case for myself when I got the game!
Awwhhh man. I love the insides, that's a cool and simple cybernetic design. ^^
You know, this box art is looking pretty sick. I've been interested in this game for a while, so I might get it on launch day.
So the game has been ruined by spoilers with the millions of trailers, may as well ruin the rest of the experience.
@SpiritOfTheHero Totally with you. I remember opening the up a new game and gushing over the manual on the car ride home. Love finding retro games that are packed with goodies in the case.
