Publisher No Gravity Games and developer Creepy Brothers have announced that Creepy Tale 2, a point and click adventure that's sure to bring some scares along for the ride, will spook the Switch eShop on 7th October.
Unsurprisingly a sequel to the original Creepy Tale, already available on Switch, Creepy Tale 2 has you taking on the role of a young boy who must solve puzzles to progress the story and save his sibling. The official synopsis paints a petrifying picture:
Once upon a time, young Lars left his father’s cabin to rescue his little sister, spirited away by an evil power...
It all started when the lean years came. An unknown force of evil began terrorizing a peaceful kingdom, kidnapping their children and the innocent inhabitants of the forest. What was once a peaceful kingdom where humans and fantastic creatures lived together in harmony became a land of gloom and fear.
You can pre-order the game from the eShop as we speak for $14.99. If you need some help making up your mind, we'll leave you with these spooky screenshots and a feature list:
FEATURES:
▪ Solve clever puzzles to help Lars rescue his little sister
▪ Enjoy narrative-focused, accessible gameplay suitable for newcomers and veterans alike
▪ Explore a magical kingdom inspired by the legends of Central European oral tradition, once compiled by the Grimm Brothers, where magic creatures try to coexist peacefully with mankind — and sometimes, even protect them from evil forces.
▪ Feel the gloomy essence of this creepy tale through its decadent cartoonish art style.

Love the art style.
I am a fan of Point and Click adventures so I am hoping this one gets a physical release. It looks like a game that SRG would publish
the curse of monkey island which is a 25 year old game had better animation than this.
The audio in the trailer reminds me of Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk, for some reason (narrator and music). The rest reminds me of how much I want a good horror game like Eternal Darkness. And that reminds me that we still haven't seen Tortured Souls run on Switch...
@SonOfVon It also had a much larger studio and George Lucas money behind it…
@Rich_Uncle_Skeleton I am aware of that but these guys have 25 years of technological advancement and this is what they come up with? it doesn't even match the art style imho. spiritfarer and jotun as far as I know didn't come from huge studios. correct me if I'm wrong which I very well could be
@Gwynbleidd ofc, but when it comes to 2d games animation is something I find very important
@SonOfVon Well, I think the benefit of the technological advancements in question is that they have allowed smaller studios to create a finished product without breaking the bank, but much like the hand-drawn animation of old Looney Tunes, which can stand up to almost any modern cartoon, the amount of work put into making Curse of Monkey Island (or really any Lucas Arts games of that era) look as good as it does speaks as much to a strong human understanding of movement and balance that I don't think a modern graphics engine can replace...
Personally, I'm not a huge fan of how this game looks either, and there are absolutely modern examples from small studios that look gorgeous (as you mentioned), but I suspect that's due more to this game's priorities probably being elsewhere (maybe the story telling, who knows!)
Looks better than the first one.
