Update:
A slightly different version of the teaser video has been posted (above), confirming more information is coming on 5th August; this could be on 4th August in the Western hemisphere, so we'll keep an eye out for details.
Original Article:
Nippon Ichi Software, and particularly its excellent localisation teams / subsidiaries like NIS America, is a favourite for some gamers that like games to be a bit different. The publisher / developer embraces that reputation with its marketing, as well, often putting out strange teasers to lure us in.
The latest is in the video above, a rather creepy and atmospheric security cam look at a girl mysteriously hanging out in a warehouse. Throw in a brief cut to a gory scene and the door is wide open for speculation on what this game will be about. Right now there's no name or information beyond the video tease, but the official website will apparently update regularly with fresh looks.
NIS has shown pretty good support for Switch over the years, so here's hoping that this will be another interesting title for the future. The teasers are certainly intriguing, anyway.

The video just looks like a girl standing doing nothing. And then she moves a little, no gore. Rather dull. Had the video changed?
@Moistnado just saw the tiny flash of nothing much. Still dull. I like games like corpse party, but there's teasing and then there is showing pretty much nothing.
@Moistnado I'd look again at the definitions of "intriguing", there's literally no intrigue in gore: it's dead, nothing to figure out and no intrigue at all
Obviously, at each its own...
Some good atmosphere for such a short teaser, but given its Corpse Party vibes, the most horrifying thing about this trailer is the thought that NISA might've stolen yet another localization gig from the folks at Xseed. I swear...
Okay. I'm interested.
That is a strange introductory trailer that will intrigue some and will cause others to shrug their shoulders. Me? Intrigued but need more.
A lot of screen tearing, bad audio, frame rate that is almost single digit per MINUTE... Ah wait no that's not how it works here.
1 frame per 20 seconds....will wait for 60 fps version
It's obviously just gonna be a fully normal dating sim.... like Dokie Doki Literature Club
@negw I hope the game is good. This trailer was dust
Like NIS games usually….so will be interested in seeing more.
@CactusMan Given that Xseed's parent company has actually owned the Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons developer for almost twenty years now, it's a biiit different of a situation than NISA scooping the localization job for the Ys series in particular by promising Falcom a same-day PC release of Ys 8, then not only spectacularly failing to deliver on that by over six months, but doing such an utterly abysmal job of their core localization duties that they literally had to redo the entire translation just to save face.
That all said, I do hope that this is in fact a brand new NIS IP as the article suggests, and that the whole argument I've started here is moot.
@Fath Probably not. Usually when NIS does teasers like these it's for something they are developing themselves.
The アサツグトリ at the end means ...
Like a mussel? Some type of shell creature that you can eat, I've seen it on menus.
But I'm sure I'm just missing some way these symbols context to each other, or how the Katakana sounds like some combination of Kanji which has a completely different meaning and it's some type of word play.
Look they literally have 400 (not an exaggeration) different sets of counting words, even speaking it every day their is a ton a non-native speaker is going to miss.
Anyone care to educate me?
Well, I'm sold. I don't know what I'm sold on, but I am sold. =P
