Feeling burnt out from the likes of Ring Fit Adventure and Fitness Boxing? Well, XSEED Games has something to say about that.
The publisher is set to release Knockout Home Fitness, a fitness game with "high-intensity workouts featuring moves inspired by martial arts," on Nintendo Switch this September. It actually launched in Japan last October under the name FiNC HOME FiT, owing to the fact that it was developed under the supervision of popular Japanese fitness app, FiNC.
The game offers a range of moves that work the upper body, as well as kicks, knees and squats for the lower body. If you're interested in taking on a new fitness routine with your Switch, check out this official description and feature list:
Grab a Joy-Con in each hand and get ready to achieve great results fast with a workout program developed specifically for the Nintendo Switch. Deliver a knockout blow to inactivity with short, intense full body workouts designed by experts to maximize calorie-burning with strikes based not just on boxing, but also other martial arts such as Muay Thai, karate, and kung-fu! Knock off Fitness Boxing, looks like.
Interesting to see somewhat of a resurgence in fitness-related games on Switch after the blockbuster success of Ring Fit Adventure.
The Fitness Boxing games in particular have been decently successful.
I hope the devs have fine-tuned the motion control more. I've had issues with Fitness Boxing detecting certain moves.
Granted, as long as you're doing as instructed, you're getting a workout, and that's what matters at the end, but you can't ignore the frustration of a miss that you swore shouldn't be a miss.
Great way to get more people to exercise!
I introduced my girlfriend to ring fit adventure and she loves it and still wakes up at 6am to play it. This looks a lot more like fitness boxing but maybe a few more exercises than only shadow boxing to music. I might surprise her with this game as well.
I still have my cyberbike for Wii, so it's either playing Mario kart on a cyberbike or this 🤔
@Takeawaydj I agree! It makes it so much more fun to exercise while you're playing a game. I bought a second hand cyberbike for Wii online for about 50 euros, and it has the controls of a GameCube controller on the handle. That means I can play GameCube games on my switch with an adapter.
Imagine doing a Mario kart tourney on 200cc while riding a bike and trying to dodge red shells 😅
How about some more Ring Fit content? That would be nice.
I’m down to give it a whirl! Seems to have better content than Fitness Boxing but we shall see.
Btw the FB2 dlc music pack was one of the absolute worst video game investments ive ever made. $5 not bad. But the songs!? Oh boy are they bad. They’re not even terrible covers of pop songs like the main game has. They’re verrrrry generic “original compositions”. Do not buy! Haha
Looks exciting! The trailer has a '3 year overview' section, so they REALLY want you to be adopting this as a long term fitness tool. Lets see whether the content matches!
