Update [Fri 16th Jul, 2021 04:45 BST]: Marvelous has now released a demo for this upcoming card battle game arriving on 10th August. So head on over to the Switch eShop and give it a try:
Original story [Wed 31st Mar, 2021 06:55 BST]: Cygames is releasing the Nintendo Switch version of its digital card game Shadowverse: Champion's Battle in Europe and North America this summer. This developer, as you might already know, previously worked on the Nintendo published mobile title, Dragalia Lost.
Shadowverse: Champion's Battle is based on the anime adaptation of Cygames' hit strategic multiplayer mobile and PC card battle game Shadowverse, and is described as a "reimagined" version. Players will collect new cards to build powerful decks, and can then battle solo or head online to verse opponents. In addition to this is a Battle Pass system featuring cosmetics and other in-game bonuses. The game will also be available digitally and physically.
All versions will include a special promo code granting two alternate art cards (three cards each), 10 seer's globes and cosmetic items redeemable in the mobile and PC version of Shadowverse. Here's backstory and some screenshots:
"In Shadowverse: Champion’s Battle, players take the role of a transfer student to Tensei Academy, where they are quickly introduced to the Shadowverse card game by their classmate, Hiro Ryugasaki. The new friends team up with Shadowverse club president (and only member) Rei on a quest to master the popular card battle game and restore the club to its former glory by winning the national championship.
"Throughout their adventures, players will be able to explore unique locations around the school and surrounding town, where events and encounters await in the least expected places. Team up with new friends, battle to become the national champions, and save the Shadowverse Club for future generations!"

The Shadowverse mobile game just added Love Is War characters today. This is the only reason I know that this whole Shadowverse franchise exists lol
I mean for a card battler it blows it's competition out of the water in terms of presentation. That's something that many seem to lack and it's nice to see that this one apparently isn't skimping on that aspect.
And I just bought this game on the japanese ehsop a few weeks ago. :')
Never heard of Shadowverse, but I enjoy a good card game. I might give it a go.
I had no clue this franchise existed, but I often search on the eShop for a new card or anime game to try.
Since this is both it will definitly be a fine addition to my wishlist to say the least~
@SeantheDon29 Does it have english already?
The game based on the anime based on the game? Okay then.
Isn't this the show that gets mocked by the playerbase about how terrible the decks used are? Like barely coherent and not representative of the game at all. That's the only thing I heard about it.
I was excited until I realized this is Shadowverse...but not. Would be nice to have arena, hearth or the actual shadowverse on switch at one point.
@Yanina it has some English in the pause screen menu but other than that, no sadly.
Uma Musume when?
But seriously, first time I hear of this eTCG series. Is the original mobile/PC available in English?
Call me when the Pokémon TCG get this kind of treatment.
Interesting... Glad the story graphics and dubbing seem good. A tad dissapointed in simple scratch animations for battle, but super animation cutscenes look cool. Single player could be fun romp. I may try. Maybeeee
It's honestly sad that this looks like it's had more love and care put into it's presentation than one of the biggest card games out there. LOOKING AT YOU KONAMI AND YOUR LEGACY OF THE DUELIST!
@SeantheDon29 Thank you! Well then I habe to wait a bit more. It is really tough on me because I really want to play the upcoming eBaseball as well. Gotta learn Japanese soon I guess.
Cygames artwork once again looking gorgeous. And I keep waiting for Dragalia Lost Re:Link on Switch, Cygames! When?!
@Yanina yeah. But if you were really interested in downloading Japan exclusives from the eshop; the Kamen rider and robot wars games are in English if you want to give them a try.
@SeantheDon29 I already have all three Robot Wars (from the Hk shop though because the newest one didn't habe english in the digital version on the jp store). And also some japan only games that I can manage with screen translation on the phone.
I just think in this case I would struggle too much.
I mean the saturday morning anime style is a turn off but I do like deck building games with honest to god good single player campaigns (though I do have to wonder if there'll be some cheesy p2w strings attached).
I would'nt mind checking this out granted that it reviews well.
@Xiovanni Yeah this was exactly my thought process as well. The card game in this seems so far detached from the anime presentation that it just doesn't make sense. The card game maybe be good underneath but the disconnect was certainly a turn off.
I'm much more interested in Chrono Faction even thought the card game in that looks a bit odd.
I've had the demo downloaded for awhile now but I just havent gotten around to playing it yet. But this trailer really makes me want to give it a shot sooner.
the demo released last week. I played it. It wasn't bad
The way the characters interact in the 3D environment reminds me of the LBX game that came out for the 3DS.
