Ahead of the big 12.0.0 update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Nintendo has announced a brand new tournament. While you would think it would be running out of ideas by now, it's somehow still going strong.
The latest one focuses on characters and games that have debuted over the past decade - you've got reps from Splatoon, Persona, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Animal Crossing and more. The more you win, the more spirits you'll receive.
This next event will begin this Friday and run for a total of three days. Will you be participating? Leave a comment down below.

Man, its.Cray all those great games came out just in this past 11 years! Time flies!
This kind of makes me upset that Ultimate doesn't have an All-Star mode. The one in Sm4sh put the fights in order of when the characters debuted.
@Aurumonado Oh my god that was such a fun mode, but thats alot of fighters to go through.
Wow even Nintendo gets it wrong. There is no year 0.
@Snatcher Ya it would take like a full hour to do a playthough with one character and you would have to do it 84 times. Imagine fighting all the way to the end and dying on freaking Byleth.
Good decade. Great characters. The only character in that photo I have no attachment to is Steve, but I'm mature enough to acknowledge that minecraft is probably a good game and my lack of interest can be attributed to "Old man yells at cloud"
@Aurumonado OMG that would suck, But it would be sooo cool if they added it after there last DLC fighter, They might actually do that.
Imagine showing this roster to someone dying of the black plague in 1348
This might be an event tourney I'll pass since I don't play as any of the characters that came from the last decade unless they include the Luminary (DQXI Hero), who I'm assuming might not be there.
@PBandSmelly
I don't quite understand. Are you saying it's a good time to be alive? Or that we're a spoiled people? Is it a purely random statement?
What would you like me to infer from your statement? (I'm all for doing so, once I know the path of the conversation.)
@Kiwi_Unlimited
It's a fun jab at people who say "Imagine showing this roster to someone in 2012" or sometime in the past when this smash roster would be unbelievable
@PBandSmelly Well, I thought it was funny.
I like how both Joker and Inkling at the front are in their school outfits lol
@Aurumonado I think I understand what you mean but they do have an all stars mode, sadly it is just formatted like a regular mob smash
Then again maybe after the final dlc they will instead focus on game mode additions in a more spaced out fashion because I've run out of offline things to do
@PBandSmelly
Okay, I'm with you now.
Thanks.
@Ze-head That Mob Smash gets a little cheap rather quickly, I can barely survive all the way to 1996 (Pokémon Trainer, Pikachu) and the best I've done so far is until 2005 (Ike). I cannot believe they decided to exclude a real All-Star mode in favor of that.
If they had included it, I wish they'd let us choose the order in which you fight them based on their debut on their series: from oldest to newest (like in Smash 3DS, start with Mr. Game & Watch and finish with Greninja/Corrin) or from newest to oldest (as in Smash Wii U, start with Greninja/Corrin and finish with Mr. Game & Watch).
@Aurumonado I'd say that's more likely to happen in the Mob Smash we got instead. At least in All-Star mode they give you chances to recover your health before the next batch of opponents.
