Krome Studios has announced its Kickstarter project TY The Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue HD will land on the Nintendo Switch eShop next week on 30th and 31st March.
"The time has come to talk about the release dates for TY2HD on Nintendo Switch systems. We've completed the submission process with Nintendo and the eShop and are now happy to confirm that the Nintendo Switch digital version of the game releases at the end of the month! (not long now....!!)"
The game will arrive in North America on 30th March and on 31st March in Australia, New Zealand and Europe. Kickstarter backers will receive their own codes via email. This project was launched at the start of this year and reached its goal of $75,000 USD in just 8.5 hours.
TY 2 first arrived on the GameCube, PlayStation 2 and Xbox in 2004 and was publihsed by EA Games. The sequel is an open-world adventure featuring more boomerangs, mechs and "more everything" - with the task to stop the evil machinations of the "diabolical Boss Cass".
The official Nintendo webpage for the game is also live, revealing a price of $29.99 USD and a file size requirement of 2.5GB.

People actually paid to revive this nonsense..😐
I actually really enjoyed this game growing up. Never played either of the other two though, and even more I wouldn’t pay over 15 dollars for it. That’s probably exactly how much I paid for the GameCube version.
Not a bad game but definitely not the kind of game I would want to bring back though I'm sure TY had his fans.
You know, when I said I wanted gamecube games on switch... this wasn’t exactly what I had in mind....
That said, I never played it, so what do I know?
I've only played Ty 3, which I remember enjoying a fair amount. Might check the first two out later on.
Meh, not interested. Ty 2 took most of what made Ty 1 great and threw it out the window in favor of a bland and empty pseudo-open world. It's not horrible, but it's also not a game I want to play twice.
@E_Gadds_Garage Well how was I supposed to know the monkey's paw was cursed?!
That's a pretty impressive turnaround time, considering the Kickstarter was just back in January.
Played a lot of Ty 1 on PC before getting a bunch of motion sickness issues, Ty 2 does look interesting and fairly sure I enjoyed a demo of it back in the day so interested to see how this ports.
I mean, I would love to buy it but... That price... It's why I haven't bought the first one on Switch. It's RRP is $14.99 on Steam and is constantly on sale. I don't really think up-rezzing a gamecube game is going to add much so why is it $29.99. It's just too much, man.
I'll be keen if they chuck all on the games on a true blue cart.
What I would really love though is for the Croc games to be ported to modern hardware.
Damn! Didn't realise the launch price is $30.
I got it for £15 I think when backing on Kickstarter.
Ty 1 is the better game I feel. More in line with other 3D platformers like Banjo... Ty 2 takes a weird turn... But still excited to play.
Never played 3, but I don't think it originally released in the EU region
I've only ever played the first Ty and it was a pretty solid game back in the day. I was pumped when it was released but with no physical edition I didn't take the plunge. Probably won't be picking this up though as I believe most would say the sequel was not that great. Nice to see an old game revived!
Well, I’m waiting for my code. Not backed a Kickstarter game before. It’s been interesting. Quite a lot of people obviously want it.
Which might mean there’s something that captain complainer is missing.
