A new teaser trailer for DOOM Eternal's The Ancient Gods – Part Two DLC has been released, confirming that a full unveiling will arrive later this week.
The second part of The Slayer's latest adventure will receive a 'full trailer reveal' on Wednesday 17th March, hopefully providing players on other platforms with a release date following last month's Australian rating. There's still no word yet on when The Ancient Gods DLC will arrive on Switch, so we'll all have to remain patient for now – unless this week's reveal shares a surprise release date for Nintendo fans, of course.
Towards the end of last year, a letter shared by developer id Software promised "Switch campaign expansions" as well as "other general additions and improvements" for 2021. Hopefully, then, that wait for new content won't be too long.
In the meantime, if you haven't already checked out the base game, we certainly recommend that you do – in our full review, we said that seeing DOOM Eternal running on Nintendo's tiny portable machine "is nothing short of a miracle."

how about giving us a physical copy of doom eternal for switch while your at it bethesda.
@RiasGremory Maybe once they're done with all of the DLC packs, they could release a bundle edition or something like that later on.
@Elvie they better cause they pissed alot of gamers off who prefer physical copy version and i feel bad for panic button for bethesda screw ups.
I don't understand the lack of communication. Tell your user base what's going on. Clearly that's asking for too much. I've enjoyed this game on the Switch more than PS4 honestly and I'm just waiting to give them my money for the DLC on Switch.
I'M SO MUCH HYYYYYPEEEEE!!!
And now that Bethesda is owned by Xbox,
Bethesda - "Switch version not included as we cant be bothered, erm lets say its not powerful enough, yeah that will do"
@RiasGremory Good luck. They aren't going to spring for a 32GB card for this game. The base game is a 17.8GB download, and with two hefty DLC packs, this game would certainly still need an additional download even with a physical cartridge.
Just started DOOM Eternal on Series X last night and it is AMAZING! Really hope Switch owners can pick up the full package soon. I loved DOOM 2016 on Switch, really held out for a next gen console to play the sequel on, glad I saved the cash for that. Would still be great fun on Switch, wish they had a cartridge
Doom Eternal was a pleasant surprise on the Switch at how good of a port that it is. However, I think I like Doom 2016 more than this one. I hate all the platforming in this game and with it being a FPS, it's hard to tell where exactly you are landing when you jump.
They sabotaged this game by not going Physical. Scott Pilgrim and No More Heroes got a physical, but DOOM cant???
Really?
@Bizzyb Those are much smaller games, and they were limited collector's editions released over a decade after their original releases.
@Bizzyb @Elvie @RiasGremory : I am GLAD that they haven't issued a physical release yet as I would rather wait for a COMPLETE edition with all of the DLC content on the cartridge as well. DLC is the bane of physical releases for me as I would overwhelmingly prefer to wait (or double-dip) for a complete edition with everything on the cart, even if it costs more (such as the Sword/Shield expansion pass editions).
If Bethesda doesn't issue a complete physical release alongside the PS5/Xbox versions, then I would expect LRG to step in. There is too much demand for them NOT to do it. Hell, (no pun intended) I would double-dip if they reissued DOOM (2016) with the multiplayer content (and bug fixes) on the cartridge as well.
@HeyItsFlapjack : I very strongly doubt that the DLC packs are going to exceed the size of the base game (and the engine). They can very well fit the base game and the expansions on a 32GB cartridge without further downloads so long as they do not update the game further once the cartridge has been produced, and that the DLC content is separate to the software update (quite often, patches include the DLC content and the "DLC" purchase merely unlocks the ability to utilise that part of the update, as this is the case with say, Smash Bros., and Pokémon Sword/Shield, but this isn't always the case, of course, as was the case with Fire Emblem Warriors).
Didn't we have to download part of doom as well for the physical? Or was that just the multiplayer portion?
@HeyItsFlapjack not unless they put the whole campaign on the cartridge while multi download like they did with the first game.
@Facelord Witcher 3 Complete Edition wasn't smaller....🤨
@Silly_G M I would want the same but I doubt that would happen (on a single cartridge)
@Bizzyb Sure, but it's also a 2015 game. They crunched the numbers and determined it wasn'5 llt worth releasing a physical copy. You can choose not to buy it, like me.
@Facelord Well like you I chose not to buy it. Its an insult to me when no name games can get physical releases but DOOM apparently isn't even worth a limited run release....smh
@Bizzyb Give it time, that's what I'm doing. I recently bought the Doom 64 Limited Run Games collector's edition, would be glad to see Doom Eternal get the same treatment - especially if it gets Super Switch enhancements.
I've beaten Doom Eternal like a dozen times, regularly play it on Nightmare difficulty at 4K120FPS and 1080p240FPS with my 6800 XT. Dropping to 720p or below at 30FPS is gonna be painful, but I did the same for Doom 2016 and had a blast. I love the Switch.
