There were roughly 30 games shown off in total during yesterday's Nintendo Direct, including releases of popular third-party games, new indies, and even some new and remastered Nintendo releases, but thanks to a leak over on Reddit, around half of them (or their titles, at least) were already doing the rounds online ahead of time.
A known leaker going by the name PracticalBrush12 shared a list of titles just a couple of hours before the presentation was due to start. The accuracy on show – particularly when it comes to brand new games like Mario Golf: Super Rush which hadn't been revealed at all before the Direct – suggests that the Reddit user certainly has inside knowledge when it comes to Nintendo's presentations.
In a spoiler-tagged post shared just after 8pm GMT on 17th February, PracticalBrush12 wrote:
"Just a list, here catch: Project Triangle Strategy, NeonWhite, SaGa Frontier, World's End Club, Fall Guys, Legend Of Mana, Stubbs, No More Heroes 3, Mario Golf, Apex Legends, Ghosts and Goblins Resurrected, Tales from Borderlands, Ninja Gaiden, Miitopia, Samurai Warriors 5... Oh and I forgot about Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword HD"
As we now know, all of these titles did indeed feature in the Direct, alongside several others not listed here like the show's grand finale, Splatoon 3.
We're sure Nintendo won't be best pleased to see the list leak ahead of time, and we're sure the majority of fans wouldn't want a Direct spoiled either, but there's no doubt that there's demand from some to see leaks like these at the earliest opportunity.
Either way, it seems Nintendo has a problem on its hands.

It's weird to me to be willing to risk your job and career to leak information the public is going to learn in a week anyway.

@Burning_Spear Same, I literally have no time to play games. It's impossible for me to sit down for a couple hours each night and play. Probably game less than 3 hours a week.
I had heard about it and decided to not look because the surprise is still fun to me. I don't really mind it being "spoiled" on such things but don't go out of my way to find leaks.

@eltomo They're really hit and miss with leaks. It's hilarious how they'll have a million garbage ones that are obvious scams and then have a random one that nails everything like the Switch reveal event. I guess /v/'s gutter culture just makes it that much easier to blend in.

Man, why do people gotta do this? It not only harms the company, it also harms their own risk at keeping a job, and harms those who don't want spoilers
This always happens and people get slandered. Then when they get stuff right it’s called lucky guesses anyone could have made.
This guy has been accurately leaking things for years, from Sword/Shield pre-release info, to Minecraft Steve in Smash, to Monster Hunter Rise pre-announcement info. He clearly has sources.
I honestly hope they start catching these leakers and that they not only lose their jobs, but are blacklisted in the industry. I really am sick of it. I'm just glad that I didn't hear about this until now.
Got to wonder what types of jobs do these people have that gives them access to this information? Video editor? Site editor? Translator? Social media runner?
I've now followed the user. I looked multiple times online yesterday for leaks and was disappointed to not find any. Hope they stay reliable and consistent with their findings in the future.
I know everyone is saying it's redundant to make a leak like 30 minutes before a Direct, but this does strengthen the leaker's credibility in the future. So if they leak something a month in advance now, it will be more believable based on their track record.
Personally, I don't see what the big deal is. I understand not wanting to get spoiled, but most people on this site think leaks/rumors from Reddit and 4chan are fake anyways (and most of them are). Considering Nintendo has these huge gaps with no Direct presentations, speculation about leaks are kinda necessary to keep me going and invested in Nintendo.
If you don't wanna be spoiled, just don't click the article/video discussing what was leaked. Most reputable outlets don't list the games in the title or thumbnail, and if they do, I would just dismiss it as clickbait.
That's my take on it, anyways. I personally like leaks because you never know what's real or not, and it makes it exciting to speculate about. Leaks also give content creators something to talk about when news is otherwise dry. Of course, I know I'm probably in the minority and you're welcome to disagree.
Not that of a big deal. Anyways there wasn't like a lot a lot huge news from the direct until the end l guess. But l wonder how that user is feeling right now
