We've already got LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 on the Nintendo Switch, so where's the original game? According to the ESRB, it's on the way...
Yep, the 2013 title previously released on the Nintendo DS, 3DS and Wii U appears to have been recently rated by the ESRB in America for the Switch. Obviously, there's been no official mention of this game coming to the hybrid platform just yet, so this isn't a proper confirmation.
Warner Bros. and TT Games previously released LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 on the Switch in 2017, so it would be nice to see the original game added to the system's library, too.
Would you be interested in returning to LEGO Marvel Super Heroes on the Switch? Tell us below.

Thats great its far better then part 2 in my opinon, I just had more fun and the story was far better but thats just me.
I think the Wii U version missed an expansion too. Could be good.
I loved this game! Me and my brother would play this game for days on our XBOX 360, even when we completed it till 100%.
This was the first game I played on Wii U so it holds a special place in my heart. It’s a genuinely great game as well, far better than the second one. Everything just comes together to make a brilliant game without as much fluff and pointless characters that bloat the second game.
I wish there is another LEGO games without Western Superheroes themes.
I don't like at all Western Superheroes franchises.
I want something Neutral like LEGO CITY Undercover. No horrendous Western superheroes outfits, no uninteresting other Western franchises such as Harry Potter / Jurassic Park / Indiana Jones / etc.
I triple dipped LEGO CITY Undercover games (Wii U + Switch + PS4) & have the 3DS version as the first 3DS game i purchased on August 2013.
@nessisonett I think its one of the best lego game ever first binge lego star wars.
@TheLUNATICgamer Bro same here, Its nice to see this game hold a place in peoples harts.
TT games has a special place in my heart. Lego Star Wars was a decent chunk of my childhood, I actually have yet to play this game, but I would get the switch version in a heartbeat.
Now can we get the old Lego Star Wars games? I would kill for a port of Clone Wars on the Switch.
@alexybubble there doing the skywalker saga I think it has clonewars in it to. Edit: ok its going to have nine of the skywalker saga episodes, plus a new game for the newist star wars movie.
@Snatcher Clone wars is quite a different LEGO game. It has big battles in it were you get to build stuff on panels and take out the enemy’s buildings it’s a lot of fun and it’s also based off of the clone wars tv show so there likely won’t be anything like it in the skywalker saga game.
@bobzbulder I wish they would, it would be awsome to have every star wars game ever. Edit: I just looked it up They have not said a thing about it binge in the game, but the cool part they will have the new movie in it and might have clone wars as dlc.
Do these games hold any appeal if you put aside the licenses attached to them? I always passed them over because I have no interest in comic books, Star Wars, etc.
I hope this comes to switch. Had such a blast with it on Xbox 360. Such good memories, such as after completing the main story, doing car chases with siblings around the whole of New York.
I’d get it just for the Agents of Shield DLC. Agent May is a Goddess. (Still bitter there was never an Agents of Shield game)
For me it's the better of the 2. As good as Star Wars. I'll get it. Even if I got it on ps3 and Steam... Shame... But classic New York and a bunch of X-men make it all...
This first LM game was an open worlder if I remember correctly. Only one of 3 Lego games that were truly open world (?). Enjoyed the game on the WiiU.
In terms of design it wasn't better than Lego Marvel 2 but it is a good playthrough and may well be preferably to many. Hopefully we get all the expansions too.
Insta-buy if that’s the case! Number two isn’t even close.
Probably my favourite of the 3 Lego Marvel games (including Lego Avengers), simply due to the open New York and cast that included the X-Men as well as the FF.
But I wouldn’t buy it again, One of the few games that effectively used the Wii U setup, with the maps etc. on the game pad - something Lego Avengers gave up on. Although not an essential setup, easily switching to just one screen like the other games, I still think it would feel like a lesser port.
After Lego city undercover this was in my top three Lego titles, Lego Batman 2 also deserves a special mention and was also ported to the Wii U.
Both Lego batman 2 and the first Marvel game featured awesome large open worlds to explore, which are made even better as you unlock the flying superheroes.
The only issue with this will be pricing as I can seem at full price, which as an Xbox One owner I can pick up a new copy of Lego Marvel for around £10, of course with the Switch userbase many will have never seen these games before.
@LEGEND_MARIOID,
Lego Batman 2, Lego Marvel superheros and Lego city undercover were all decent sized open world games, the rest seem to have smaller hub worlds that some are connected to each other, although Gotham in the Lego super villains game was not too bad, but nowhere near the size of the one in Lego Batman 2, which also let you drive into an awesome bat cave via Wayne manor.
Cant wait to see what they do with the new Lego Star Wars game, that has so much potential.
Replayed it last year on Xbox and it's tremendously better than 2 and Avengers. Still holds up incredibly well.
But I wish they would release the Batman trilogy instead (or at least just the second one) as only the third game is on current gen consoles.
@Anti-Matter you always have a very offbeat opinion my friend. Are you sure you don’t just want to ply terrible games all the time? Cause you seem like a fan of...well just anything terrible. Lol
@Gwynbleidd,
This was the game that I hoped would be my Christmas 2020 game until it was delayed, just looks so awesome.
Don’t mind at all as long as it’s not full-priced at release, it wasn’t a bad game if I remember correctly (I’d prefer Pirates if the Caribbean though).
@Snakesglowcaps
What do you mean by terrible games? 🤨
I have completely different gaming taste, very opposite by majority users here.
Is that wrong to be different ?
Do you know why did i triple dipped LEGO CITY UNDERCOVER for 3 different version (Wii U + Switch + PS4) ?
Because that was the only LEGO game that didn't use Western superheroes franchises. It used LEGO CITY theme, modern NYC, police department and i like Police with Blue color without horrendous Western superheroes outfits.
@Anti-Matter Stop repeating the same crap over and over again!
Your whining will not bring games for your taste.
I would LOVE to have the original Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel Avengers to the Switch!
@Anti-Matter I think the problem is that you may not notice that you insult other people's preferences regularly. Sure, it's in your right to dislike and even call the hero thematic "horrendous", but that usually provokes people into doing the same with your peculiar tastes.
The problem isn't being different, it's more about being more aware and respectful of other people's preferences so that they do the same with yours.

I LOVED this game on Wii U. It’s probably my favorite LEGO game and I enjoyed it much more than LMS2. Funny enough, my son was just asking to rebuy this for our PS4 since we no longer have our Wii U. Might need to hold off and get it for Switch instead. Hopefully it comes with a $19.99 price tag.
@Anti-Matter The reason Lego is popular is that it lets you make/live the pretend lives, and which is why its crossovers with superheroes are so popular (SURPRISE!). It makes perfect business sense for them to keep making these games, and to the extent that the generic Lego Movie has Batman as a major character. I am not saying you should not expect a Lego City Undercover 2, but do understand that people do like the games with Western IPs, and probably more do than those who don't.
Good game with a fun original story that involves all the big Marvel heroes (Fantastic Four, X-Men, Avengers) and all the major villains. Got 100% on this on the ps3, would recommend it as one of the better Lego games.
@TheLightSpirit,
You are not getting the bigger picture here, the Wii U only sold 13 million consoles or so, and this game did not even register a million sales on the console, so for the 70 million plus Switch owners this will be a brand new game.
LM2 was bad due to Marvels "screw Fox" policies at the time. Glad the Switch is finally getting the better of the two.
@TheLightSpirit,
There are lots of new games for the system, o.k this year has been a bit sparse, but due to the ongoing situation with the pandemic that was understandable.
I am pretty sure you are not the only person who feels this way, but I still do not see any point in that comment, as for one you and others could be the exception to the overall Switch user base, and two the constant sales of the console suggest there must be many reasons for people to buy one.
Interesting.
I have the first game on the PS4 and the second on the Switch. I'll be honest, if the first game comes to the Nintendo Switch, I might just double-dip on it, but only if it has a physical re-release.
I'd consider this the same as Jurassic World, where it'd be a great game to get on the system and I'd be happy for those who might not have played it yet. Admittedly I haven't played this one yet, either, but I've only recently bought a load of LEGO games during the Christmas sales on the Microsoft Store, so if it did release, I wouldn't be jumping on it yet.
@TheLightSpirit Skywalker Saga was delayed out of 2020, which will be a big release for this year. Really doesn't matter if we get a port of an older game, considering there will be a new one releasing alongside it sometime in the year.
This is the better Marvel game that actually represents the breadth of Marvel. Not just corporate synergy
@nessisonett I have been revisiting on the WiiU and the music is just epic for a LEGO game. I mean there is Orchestra playing for a game based on blocks.
@Anti-Matter Would you rather Lego Doctor who or Sherlock Homes? (now that I say that, they actually sound pretty awesome, just in different ways!)
So let's just port every Wii U game and enhance it for the Switch.
Actually we really don't need previous games like Mario Party 10 or Yoshi's Wooly World, games that already have a mainline title in said series on Switch, do we not?
@GamingTelescope I would definitely be on board for a Lego Doctor Who game.
@GamingTelescope
No. 🤨
I don't even like those franchises.
I want a Neutral themed LEGO game, not based on any popular franchises.
Just like LEGO CITY Undercover with common outfits.
I would like to see LEGO SPORTS without any Western licensed franchises attached on it, LEGO RHYTHM games without mainstream Western songs on it (make the songs by themself like DDR or Beatmania IIDX by hiring Japanese or European artists), LEGO WORLDS 2 without engaging in combat and weird outfits (Just like Animal Crossing).
@Anti-Matter
Would you like a Lego Friends console game?
@Toy_Link
LEGO Friends on consoles is okay for me. 😀
As long it has full customizations from head to toe.
@anti-matter I would love to see a Lego game with their 1st party IP too. I would love to see some of the older themes like Agents or Atlantis get games
@Anti-Matter Oh, gotcha. Why are you fine with European songs but not western ones? Not your style? Luckily for you, there are a couple other games like that (I think.) I don't think Lego Ninjago or The Lego movie games have that (well, excluding batman.), I think the first few lego games on PC weren't based on anything and didn't have any combat. Could be wrong though.
@GamingTelescope
Some European artist know how to make great music such as DM ASHURA, System 7, Darude, Jakazid, Tanuki (used on DDR A20+), etc.
I don't really like LEGO NINJAGO as from 1st season short animated series, it was quite good but as the series went to next seasons it became awful with Robots battle, didn't fit at all with the meaning of being Ninja. Ninja + Western style Robots = Terrible combination in my opinion. Being Ninja should be a spionage game like Sly Cooper.
LEGO Movie 1 & 2 still have the Western superheroes on it after i saw from Youtube. Didn't like at all.
@Anti-Matter I’m not sure I understand the “horrendous western super hero outfits” and no certainly nothing wrong with it. You do you man. Whatever makes you happy is what you should do.
I really enjoyed playing this one with my brother on Wii U back in the day, but don't think I would double dip on this one. I completed most of everything I could, and had a blast doing it, so I am happy with that!
@johnvboy Ah yes. Loved all those games as well. I think I've probably played through every licensed LEGO game bar maybe the LEGO Indiana Jones games I think. I was disappointed when they didn't make open world as standard after Lego City Undercover and Lego Batman 2. Lego Batman 3 wasn't open world, for example (though I enjoyed that)
switch getting the old stuff. it's tiresome to say the least. why can't ANY wester studio make a native switch game instead? Why don't they want to do it, it's not like the switch can run their current gen games. Why do third party never mind leaving money on the table if it's nintendo?
