The latest Fire Emblem Heroes update is now live in the form of Book V, adding some steampunk-inspired action to the game's usual sword and sorcery themes.
A special movie has been shared by Nintendo to promote the new Book, and there's also a much longer Feh Channel video (you'll find that below) which covers everything you can expect to find in the game going forward – as long as you can put up with Feh the owl hosting the entire thing...

The realm of Niðavellir has discovered a way to fuse magic and science into something they call seiðjárn, and it’s safe to say you’ve never seen a realm like this before in the Fire Emblem Heroes universe!
In addition to some intriguing characters, Book V also introduces new mechanical armor, known as Gullinbursti, which is used by the people of Niðavellir to do battle. If you’re eager to see some of this new content in action, even novice summoners can jump right into Book V’s story. By completing Chapter 1 of Book V, you will also earn a new Mythic Hero for free: Reginn, princess of Niðavellir.
The new Book also means that the Fire Emblem Heroes app has now been updated to Version 5.0.0 on Android and iOS. Make sure your app is updated to the latest version before you get stuck in.

That centaur mech armor made me redownload the game. Just the perfect combination of ridiculous, original and kinda cool. The new battle theme's no slouch either.
Fire Emblem has mechas now? Fascinating.
I wonder if they keep that influence for the next main entry.
This game is a lot of work, or a lot of money spent on microtransactions, to ‘complete’.

The amount of story content in FEH is staggering as it is, but now this multiverse hub is adding science fantasy to it??? Yeah, that's how you rank as one of the best mobile games in my book.

Love the game, hate the slow drip-feed of chapters. Would much prefer longer waits to get a full story in one go.
@Bobb Same here! At some point logging in for my daily rewards became more of a chore than something I was playing for fun. I never finished my +10 Surtyr, and I think I'm okay with that.
Still highly recommended, though. I just got burnt out after a few years

Lots of Final Fantasy VI vibes with the new character and world (Terra -> Reginn, science + magic, etc.), but I'm enjoying it so far.
It's great to see Intelligent Systems are finally releasing a sequel to the underappreciated Codename: S.T.E.A.M
The only thing I like about this mobile cash grab is the lovely art of classic characters. Which is easy to peruse online.
I'd rather play those classic entries than this microtransaction junk.

After watching that trailer, I would be fully behind the next mainline entry taking place in a techy or steampunk setting while keeping all the swords and sorcery. I know a lot of fans would screech at such a change, but I can see the devs taking that to a lot of interesting places.
Horse mecha?
...interesting, but I'm not going into a gacha game. I gave FEH a go, and I just didn't get into it. I'm sure it's not as brutal as other gatcha games out there when it comes to probability and chances, as one of my first 3 free unlocks was rare warrior. But I really don't want to invest money into a gacha game, they turn into free to A LOT of money once you've gotten into it. It'll turn into a pricier game than something from an actual game store.

Well, Three Houses had dubstep and nukes.
l don't know what goes on in this game anymore. I just play to stay motivated and stopped caring about the story when the butterfly people first showed up. Some nightmare thing is all l remember with dreamland of butterflies.
Same here the premium subscription made me quit 2.
Gatekeeping things behind a paywall isn't the worst business practice, but it comes close when the reward is laughable small.
Cool ride-able mechs won't change that.
