Today sees the beginning of the Toy Day event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, meaning you can now get your hands on a set of Christmas toys for a limited time only.
Following on from last week's Turkey Day Thanksgiving event, Toy Day celebrations are running from 1st - 25th December, with the 24th being the big day itself. Expect to see plenty of festive, holiday-themed decorations popping up on your island over the coming weeks, including decorated trees which might drop special ornaments when you shake them.
If you want to get stuck in immediately, though, you can head on over to Nook's Cranny to purchase the limited-time Christmas toys we mentioned above. As long as your game is updated to the latest version, you should see the following toys appear at the seasonal furniture spot in the bottom-left of the store starting from today (thanks, AnimalCrossingWorld):
Toy | Price |
---|---|
Dinosaur Toy | 2,400 Bells |
Dollhouse | 4,000 Bells |
Kids' Tent | 4,500 Bells |
Mini Circuit | 3,800 Bells |
Pop-Up Book | 2,000 Bells |
Puppy Plushie | 2,400 Bells |
RC Helicopter | 3,600 Bells |
Tin Robot | 3,500 Bells |
Set of Stockings | 2,000 Bells |
As with most items, you'll find that you can only pick up one particular colour variation for each item from your own Nook's Cranny store, but you can always organise a trade via mail to pick up different sets. Those stockings in particular are sure to make your home look very Christmassy indeed.
Remember to jump into the game on 24th December to spot Jingle the Reindeer and join in with the festive activities – hopefully these new toys will help get you into the Christmas spirit while you wait.

And who will ever hate theses free gifts?
I love having an Animal Crossing game to play over the holidays, there's just something special about it!
I have all of them
@EngineerMario Well you can sell them for money.
@ShinyUmbreon
I have all of them in the catalog and when all of them come then people can come over to catalog them without paying 50 nmts on them
As I'll be seeing nobody this Christmas, "Toy Day" will have to do.
...but new furniture is always great, my inner hoarder appreciates it.
@EngineerMario Oh Oof.
Oooh nice. I just put all my Halloween decorations into storage, thanks to that 800 item increase, so I'm looking forward to this. Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. Even for my family, and we're 3/4 Jewish. 😁 I don't suppose Nintendo thought to add a dreidel or Hanukkiah into the game?
@rjejr I believe there are items in the game that might be helpful in accomplishing adding a dash of Hanukkah to the season. There's an item called a Celebratory Candles that might be the closest to a menorah you'll get. There's also the Festive Top Set that I believe has a dreidel as part of it's design. I'd say couple those with some custom patterns that might be out there and you can probably decorate sufficiently for Hanukkah. Though I agree with your sentiment. I think having different representations of how those celebrate the holidays would be nice to add in the future
Are we gonna get Christmas decorations too? I hope we don't have to wait till the day itself to get items and DIYs. I expected a whole bunch of stuff, like we had for Halloween.
My shop had the Set of Stockings(pink) and the tin robot(red). Fun.
@Anti-matter I heard you cant time travel ahead everly
@HobbitGamer
I know.
But once i reached the actual date, i can exploit the items on Toy Day or repeat the event anytime.
I want a set of stockings, but I'm afraid that Bob may rip them.
@UmbreonsPapa "Celebratory Candles"
Certainly sounds like a Hanukah decoration. Kwanzaa has candles as well.
Thanks for the info. My store had the RC race track car toy today, not impressed. Though the small tree w/ the blinking lights in front was nice. Still a lot of month left to go.
Pay back my debt: no
Fund the incline: no
Buy toys: yes
I'm hoping they allow decorating the outside of houses with lights or other stuff. maybe a design through Tom Nook or just putting it up ourselves.
Just picked up the dollhouse, I gotta make sure to get the rest.
Wow then the Turkey Day Item sale was the shortest sale ever, wasn’t it? I only managed to buy 4, will have to craft the rest to have the whole set.
@EngineerMario hi... I'd really really really love to come and catelouge the items... I really want the dalmation plush specifically... Not fussed about the others.
