The giant inflatable Pikachu will once again be participating in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City on November 26th. This marks its 20th consecutive appearance in the parade.
"Look for the iconic Pokémon to appear holding a snowman Pikachu and wearing a scarf in preparation for the cold weather! "
Local viewers will be able to watch this spectacle at home on NBC and Telemundo from 9 am - 12 pm.
There'll also be a "special troupe" of dancing Pikachu in the parade. If you tune in, you'll be able to find out why they're making a special appearance this year.

Quarter million dead, I can't believe they are still having the parade.
@Heavyarms55 it's not really like past parades. The public is not allowed to attend, and most of the floats will appear on TV in pre-taped displays.
@JJtheTexan Oh really? Didn't know that. That's a relief.
watch them dance with masks on xD
@Heavyarms55 @JJtheTexan not only that they’ve changed to where the parade will be for the floats and took some out. Its a surprise that Pikachu made the cut.
Ah yes, Pikachu, a true thanksgiving icon.
@mousieone I don't think it's a surprise that Pikachu made it. Despite some recent backlash, Pokemon is actually still one of the largest media franchises on Earth. With the series entering it's 25th anniversary next year, I don't expect it to flounder any time soon.
But it is very good to know they aren't just going with the idiotic idea of pretending that everything is normal and fine. So sick of the people who are more upset about not being able to have parties than about the literally hundreds of thousands of people who have died from this catastrophe.
@Heavyarms55
Haha my thoughts, but if they had a plan to hinder People standing closely, well why not.
But there are still Millions of People that don't believe that the Virus exists, they just don't understand whats the Danger of a Virus that can hide two weeks, spread in that Time and can give you neurologic long Time Problems.
Edit:
Overall People are bad in handling abstract Problems and Dangers.
@mousieone @Heavyarms55 So it will be a bunch of phony performers on weirdly spliced pre-recorded footage trying to make it look like it's all one live presentation, while they pretend to lip sync to bad dubs of their own music.
So basically a perfectly normal parade.
@Azuris It's frightening, not just due to the virus but it reveals much of why the world is as utterly screwed in as many ways as it is. The mass population really can't comprehend or understand resulting long term implications of any problem that doesn't have have an immediate negative effect. I never imagined people just look around them and assume "I see no immediate harm to me therefore everything is fine." Never in a million years could I have assumed such a catastrophically shallow comprehension of everything. No wonder the idiot world is in a permanent state of bliss, they're entirely unaware of any and all threats around them! And supposedly these people are intelligent. At this point we should burn the books, it's not doing anyone any good anyway. It's a world full of intellectual toddlers that simply memorized text books.
They seem to be teasing a big announcement at the parade. Who has "Mewtwo bursts out of a parade balloon and takes over the world" on their 2020 Apocalypse Bingo card?
(Personally I think it would be an improvement. I welcome our purple overlord!"
Laughing hysterically Wait, Wait... No gatherings of more than 10 people, but they are gonna have a parade?!?!?! What a joke!
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
@Unit_DTH
They allow what they can make money off of - or even more importantly: what fits their agenda. I'm sure the whole parade will be a propaganda machine. xD
