With just two days to go until release, Nintendo has released the official launch trailer for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
The game will be available exclusively on Nintendo Switch from 20th November, and pre-orders from the Nintendo Official UK Store will give you automatic access into a competition to win some lovely figures inspired by Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
As for the game itself, we've also now posted our full review. Naturally, we'd urge you to give it a read to see how we got on with it, but we'll leave just a taste for you below.
Approached with the knowledge that this is a full-featured side-dish, you'll have a very good time hacking and slashing your way through Calamity Ganon's minions in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity; just remember that despite its sparkling presentation, it is still not a Zelda game. What it is is a brilliant Zelda-infused Musou experience filled with varied and satisfying combat and Breath of the Wild additions that work beautifully within the boundaries of the Warriors template.
Will you be playing Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity this Friday? Let us know in the comments.

Looking forward to this! I was worried that they would alter the flashbacks seen in the original, but Zelda is still whining about having no powers.
Balance is restored.
Why did it quickly start playing Zelda's lullaby at the end of the trailer, before cutting it off?
Are they maybe teasing a future release, as they like to do? Either Ocarina or Link to the Past remaster/remake?
@Kimyonaakuma lol
@Dezzy
Now if they come out with Ocarina I am there. That is probably my favorite game of the series.
Are they hinting Zelda CD-i remakes? Maybe Hotel Mario 2?
All this trailer did was remind me of the singular complaint I had about BoW... Zelda's voice.
@Zidentia I'd enjoy an Ocarina of Time like the 3DS one... but I think because Breath of the Wild was such a departure — a kind of departure I actually loved — I would enjoy a full-on remaster of Ocarina. Would love to see what Nintendo would do with that.
I know it would not look like an Unreal Engine showcase and there is no way it would avoid having a look that was controversial, but I really enjoy the pace of Ocarina of Time and the quirky characters mixed with quite a somber and dark tone.
On the other hand, if I had to choose to wait for that, or have a 3D Mario All-Stars like port — with a little more care out of the gate — I would choose the port, still.
Actually Skyward Sword could be a real event if they spent time hedging against the motion-control combat having some reliability issues — probably with tweaks to the motion controls along with some crazy non-motion alternative, along with quality of life improvements around Fi interruptions and flying in the overworld (make it a bit more interesting/fun). Along with a HD texture swap and some shader tweaking, it would feel like a whole new game I think, without the full remaster/remake approach.
It's really fascinating how more story — a segment people felt was lacking in BotW — is able to be the main attraction to this game.
I really enjoyed the way the story was woven into BotW, but I would still have enjoyed more cinematic flashbacks spread throughout the game, even if minor and short.
The huge injection of story here really makes me curious about the direction of BotW 2.
Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword really laid on the story thick and I loved that aspect, but it did change the game, so I enjoy watching Nintendo grapple with that in different ways.
This trailer... I did not like the music. I hope the game has better music than this. I would like to hear more orchestral tracks, frankly, like from the 25th anniversary, and it's a real shame that the anniversay music wasn't mixed to at least used in Smash.
The warriors franchise and monster hunter is a big disappointment for me. I tried to like them, but unfortunately i think they just are boring repetitive games. Love Zelda douh
Ah yeah. We will get to play as Ultra Instinct Zelda.
Awesome.
Champions Massacre...i dont like it one bit......But i m still gonna play the game eventually cause i always wanted to play as a champion , especially Mipha cause i like her gentle soul and i love her trident weapon... (Did i mention i am Greek ??) But i Also like Revali becasue he is cocky and arrogant of his hard earned power...And Daruk cause his realy simpleminded but amazingly strong and funny...And ofcourse l like Urbosa who wields the lightning ,shes a composed character and so beautiful at the same time !! I realy dont want to see them die..... each of them is unique ...!
@FantasiaWHT I always have muted the game when she started to talk in BOTW when l played the game 3 years ago xD. I think her voice gets annoying because it sounds so petty and weak. Doesn't suit Zelda at all who is basically part Goddess.
@Mr_Persona "it sounds so petty and weak"
So it was perfectly fitting of BotW's Zelda, who felt she was precisely those things during the events of the past, struggling desperately to find that goddess part within herself.
Now if she still spoke with that tone after mastering her powers, I might share the sentiment.
Hyped! Love Zelda’s character and voice acting.
@FantasiaWHT Change it to Japanese. As soon I did, I couldn't go back to english.
@GamingTelescope There was some trick to doing that, right? I think it wasn't a game settings option? Did you have to change your whole console to Japanese?
I need it to be Friday, 4:00 PM like right now, right now.
The voice acting in BOTW in general is pretty bad, but Zelda takes the cake. How is she getting MORE voice work!? Baffling.
I'm probably going to pick up this game though. Not much else to play on Switch atm is there? ...
@FantasiaWHT Nah. In Breath of the wild it's in the options for voice language, and in Age of Calamity it's in the menu before you head into the game.
So imagine if this still fails..
