Two weeks ago, downhill biking game Descenders received a pretty significant update. What we – and indeed, everyone – didn't know at the time, however, was that the update added a secret new world.
Mike Rose, of the game's publisher No More Robots, has revealed that developer Rage Squid has included "an entire new world in the game which took special steps to find". He says 'took', rather than 'takes', because a tiny number of players have now stumbled across it.
Introducing 'Ridges', complete with a classic Limp Bizkit soundtrack:
Rose says that Ridges is "essentially consistent, steep mountain drops, with insane jumps and the constant possibility of death", before adding that "less than 0.1% of players" will unlock it.
So how do you unlock it? Well, it's still a secret, although we've been left with this small hint.
Do you own Descenders on Switch? Feeling tempted to try and figure this all out? It sounds like you're going to need an awful lot of skill.

Man, Limp Bizkit are awful. Like, it’s as if they purposefully set out to be the worst band ever. Descenders is pretty good fun though, jumping the train never gets old.
Funny thing is that us testers didn't even know about the secret level because the devs were being cheeky and didn't tell anyone.
Missed opportunity by not featuring music from the band Descendents.
Say what you want about Limp Bizkit...it’s all valid, but if you’re not feeling like “Break Stuff” is the anthem of 2020, I don’t know what song is. 😂
If you haven't jammed to Limp Bizkit - Rollin' at least once in your life, you haven't experienced life.
Not a fan of Descenders or Limp Bizkit outside that one song, but this is pretty cool (the hidden world and including Limp Bizkit soundtracks).
I don't think most of us are trying to be as "cultured" as to backstab grunge music that isn't trying to come across as anything but itself. Driving down a mountain to this is acceptable. Gives me some 1080 Snowboarding title screen vibes as well, lol.
It's a good game I'm enjoying it so far kinda reminds me a bit of downhill domination.
@nessisonett
I don't feel alone now.
